QuakeCon 2011 will kick off on Thursday, August 4th, with the requisite keynote address by id mastermind John Carmack, co-founder and Technical Director of id Software.
In addition to getting your hands on all manner of id material and videogames, such as a playable Rage, many other games will be playable for the first time by the public!
During the show, attendees will have the opportunity to see Todd Howard, Game Director of Bethesda Game Studios, present the award-winning The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim publicly for the first time.
QuakeCon will also see the first public demo of the highly-acclaimed Prey 2, which will be demoed by Chris Rhinehart, Project Lead at Human Head Studios.
In addition to being able to play RAGE on the show floor, attendees will be able to check out a special presentation of the award-winning shooter given by Matt Hooper, the game’s Design Director.
Here is the latest behind-the-scenes Rage video from the six-part developer diary called “The Dawn”.
In this video the team at id Software talk about creating the story behind RAGE and discuss the destruction of civilization as well as the characters and enemies you will encounter in the wasteland.
RAGE features intense first-person shooter action, breakneck vehicle combat, an expansive world to explore and jaw-dropping graphics powered by id’s revolutionary id Tech™ 5 technology. Set in the not-too-distant future after an asteroid impacts Earth, you emerge into a vast wasteland to discover humanity working to rebuild itself against such forces as bandit gangs, mutants, and more. RAGE promises an experience like no other.
