Alan Wake 2 Missable Collectibles

There are a total of 5 Collectibles in Alan Wake 2 that you can permanently miss out on during the story! All other collectibles in the game are available in the open world before completing the game.

• [0:10] — Missable Collectible Location 1: Koskella Brother Commercials: “Coffee World”. Is available from the “Return 1: Invitation” until the end of the “Return 3: Local Girl” chapters. It’s playing on a TV inside the police station near the exit.
• [0:53] — Missable Collectible Location 2: Writer’s Journey Video: “The Dark Presence”. Is available from the “Initiation 4: We Sing” until the end of the “Initiation 5: Room 665” chapters. Can be found in the open world main area, in a bookstore between Initiation 4 and Initiation 5 of Alan Wake’s story. Make sure to pick it up during this part of the game.
• [1:18] — Missable Collectible Location 3: Writer’s Journey Video: “Visions”. Is available only during the “Initiation 5: Room 665” chapter when you visit the Ocean View Hotel. You’ll need the key for Room 101 to access this collectible. The key can be found in the (New Scene) Ballroom section, on the right side of the breakroom it’s on on the front table out of all the round tables in this room (it’s on a piece of paper). Now backtrack to the first floor of the Ocean View Hotel to find Room 101, where you’ll find the TV that only spawns here on the fireplace mantle during this mission.
• [2:47] — Missable Collectible Location 4: Writer’s Journey Video: “Drowning”. Is available only during the “Initiation 7: Masks” chapter when you visit the Talk Show Studio. Near the end of the chapter, in the Green Room you’ll talk to the janitor who gives you the “Find the Shoebox in the basement” mission to find Alice’s photographs. In the basement, you should first pick up Alice’s photographs before leaving this building like the main objective says. But to get the TV to appear, you’ll need to do the following: Go down the stairs from where the janitor was and use the light source to alternate the downstairs area, which will give you access into a side room with a vacuum cleaner on the floor and Alice’s photos on the table that you can pick up. With the main objective done, we can go after the collectible next… Follow the correct path to the end of the level, after going through the door to the mandatory end of the level, you’ll have to change the light source to make the TV appear.
• [4:09] — Missable Collectible Location 5: Writer’s Journey Video: “Initiation”. Is available only during the “Initiation 8: Zane’s Film” chapter when you visit the Movie Theater’s Theater Hall during “The Grandmaster” plot. At this point in the story there will be a door you can enter on the projection screen. This part of the story has multiple loops, make sure to get the collectible on the third loop through the room. The door you took to exit the first two loops will be gone, so you’ll be forced to open the door to your left, HOWEVER if you then turn around and leave you will not get the collectible… so you HAVE TO take one step into the room to get the video from the TV.
