During the later dialog when she asks you how to proceed, answer to move in and secure to the ground floor first to cut off all exits. During the battle that follows keep Jaheira alive until you reach the top fo the tower. There you must defeat Ketheric Thorm and then you can recruit Jaheira as a permanent follower.

How To Recruit Minsc

How to recruit Minsc in Baldur’s Gate 3: Head to The Counting House in Act 3. Go inside and get a bank pass to enter The Counting House Vaults. Once inside the Vault, defeat all the enemies, then walk into the bank Vault. Next, you can head into the sewers (near Baldur’s Gate), the sewer entrance is the easiest way to find Minsc. At the Abandoned Cistern, you need to kill all the other enemies but don’t kill Minsc. Select passives at the bottom and enable non-leathal damage, then attack Minsc. After you’ve downed him, keep Minsc alive by extending your protection to him, then follow him to be able to recruit him. Together you will cleanse Baldur’s Gate of evil!

There you go! All Companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 are yours! 🙂
