In Sony’s latest PlayStation Showcase 2023 video broadcast presentation you get over 1 hour with debut trailers for new & long-awaited games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, Bungie’s Marathon, Sword of the Sea, Phantom Blade 0, Ghostrunner 2, Teardown, Fairgames, and Arizona Sunshine 2. They even showed the long-rumored Streaming PlayStation Portable. Sadly no news on Marvel’s Wolverine, Elden Ring DLC or The Last of Us – Factions.
The show will be focusing on PS5 and PS VR2 games in development from top studios from around the world. Expect a glimpse at several new creations from PlayStation Studios, as well as spellbinding games from Sony’s third-party partners and indie creators.

- Sony’s new Jade Raymond-helmed Haven studio put out it’s debut trailer for Fairgames, stylized as Fairgame$. The CGI trailer shows teams pulling off heists on billionaires. Coming to PS5 & PC.
- Jim Ryan, PlayStation’s CEO, gives a glimpse at what’s coming next. Helldivers 2 “Invasion” debut trailer shown. Join the Helldivers and travel the galaxy and kill alien bugs all you want in 4-player co-op games as an elite peacekeeping force. Coming to PS5 & PC in 2023. Looks like Starship Trooper.
- EA Originals showed Immortals of Aveum. Magic shooter. Release date July 20, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X & PC.
- Ghostrunner 2 ninja bike fighting action game shown in trailer.
- Phantom Blade 0 PS5 trailer shows electrified ninja action game. Quick terrain traversal, super fast-paced ninja battles! Looks awesome!
- Abzu creators announced Sword of the Sea for PS5. Looks like Journey 2! Beautiful looking desert and ocean landscapes, sand-surfing.
- The Talos Principle 2 trailer shows huge world. “What’s past is prologue.” Coming to PS5
- Neva trailer. Coming to PS5 in 2024. Female protagonist and two white wolves take on the evil black sludge that’s killing all wildlife in the world. Anime world.
- Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean coming to PS4 & PS5 soon in 2023.
- Square Enix announced another multiplayer team shooter, this one’s called Foamstars, because it’s like Splatoon with bubble soap. Coming to PS4 & PS5.
- Super cartoony & handdrawn graphics style taking place in a toy world. Looks beautiful. The Plucky Squire coming in 2023.
- Teardown trailer shows Lego-esque voxel blocky graphics. Very innovative gameplay. Open up the world by destroying everyting to plan the perfect heist. Coming to PS5 in 2023, already out on PC to high praise.
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake CGI teaser trailer shown. Now called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Coming to PS5 some day. Hideo Kojima not involved. But it sounds like Snake’s original voice actor has returned for the role.
- Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 & 3 Master Collection Volume 1 has 4K Remasters. Announced for PS5. Release date is Autumn 2023.
- Dreamlit’s Towers of Aghasba game coming in 2024. Teaser trailer shown.
- Square Enix showed off Final Fantasy 16 with a new gameplay trailer. Release date June 22, 2023 on PS5 as a timed exclusive.
- Alan Wake 2 gets a new story trailer. Release date is October 17, 2023 on PS5 & PC (Epic Game Store).
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay trailer shown. It’s got Ubisoft going back to the basics of the first AC games. Besim stars. Release date is October 12, 2023.
- Revenant Hill trailer shown. Cartoony black cat game. Coming to PS4 & PS5.
- Granblue Fantasy Relink trailer shows the action-RPG with beautiful cel-shaded landscapes and huge boss battles! Coming to PS5, PS4 & PC in 2023.
- Street Fighter 6 gets a new gameplay trailer. “Meet the Legends. Become a Legend.” Coming June 2, 2023.
- Ultros action platformer has a beautiful colorful artstyle that looks like a trip, literally. Coming to PS5 in 2024.
- Tower of Fantasy cel-shaded action-RPG trailer shown.
- Capcom showed off Dragon’s Dogma 2 has dragons and lots of other monsters to fight!
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 trailer shows new game for PSVR2.
- Up next are PSVR2 games that are coming up soon. Resident Evil 4 Remake getting a Virtual Reality Mode for PS5 VR. Still in development, no date given.
- Arizona Sunshine 2 zombie game announced with trailer. Sequel coming to PSVR2 in 2023.
- Crossfire: Sierra Squad shooter trailer shown. Coming to PSVR2 in 2023.
- Synapse shooter game announced with trailer. Coming to PSVR2 on July 4, 2023.
- Beat Saber PS5 trailer shown. Queen Music Pack out now!
- Bungie’s new game Marathon debut trailer shown! Before Halo there was Marathon. Looks like a colorful multiplayer shooter. Sony says it’s a “sci-fi PVP extraction shooter.” More at: marathonthegame.com. To quote developer Christopher Barrett: “It’s not a direct sequel to the originals, but something that certainly belongs in the same universe and that feels like a Bungie game.”
- Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion teaser. More news about it on August 22, 2023.
- Concord teaser. Coming 2024.
- Gran Turismo Movie trailer shown. Coming to theaters in August 2023.
- Project Q announced. Streaming PlayStation Portable coming later in 2023. 8″ HD screen to stream installed PS5 games. The Project Q device is intended for playing games installed on your PS5 and streamed over WiFi. I remember using the same technology when streaming PS4 games on my PS Vita.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 CGI trailer introduces the hunter Kraven wants to hunt black suit Spider-Man, who now has the symbiote in him. Showcase changes to gameplay. You can easily switch between the two Spider-Men in-game as they try to save The Lizard. Coming to PS5 in Fall 2023.
