Wanted: Dead Tips and Tricks

Intro:

Wanted: Dead is a new hybrid slasher/shooter from the makers of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive. The game follows a week in life of the Zombie Unit, an elite Hong Kong police squad on a mission to uncover a major corporate conspiracy. Play as Lt. Hannah Stone, a hardboiled Hong Kong cop, and plow through mercenaries, gang members and private military contractors in a cyberpunk adventure. It’s a love letter to the sixth generation of consoles.

Combat Tips:

Developed by Japanese studio Soleil, Wanted: Dead is no ordinary action game. Players will experience some nail-bitingly close encounters and will have to use their skills to juggle between slashing sword combat and thrilling gunplay in order to survive the onslaught of enemies thrown in their path. Boasting a truly hardcore challenge, inspired by the mechanically rich combat systems of the Ninja Gaiden series, Wanted: Dead is not for the faint of heart and aims to put the player’s mettle to the test.

From the get-go, the player is well equipped with a powerful ranged weapon. However, solely relying on Hannah’s rifle won’t get you very far so ammo and secondary weapons dropped by enemies like assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs and grenade launchers will come in handy for when the fights intensify. Choose wisely though, as picking the right weapon mix in an encounter could mean the difference between life and death.

One way to survive in Wanted: Dead is to stay on the move by combining run and gun mechanics, melee combat, slide attacks, grenade tossing and takedowns to overcome your enemies in a sleek seamless style. Wanted: Dead requires mastery and will not go easy on the player so blocking and countering enemy attacks are essential and fundamental skills that will allow the player to progress.

Not only does Wanted: Dead offer the player crazy cutthroat combat combinations to take down enemies, but unlockable skills are also a key feature with a skill tree divided into three categories (offense, defense and utility). With no right or wrong way to spend these points, players ultimately have the choice of how they tailor their Wanted: Dead experience. While some players may like to rely on support from their team, others prefer defensive strategies during combat and some might even want to go on a total rampage and charge headfirst into the action.

“We can’t wait for players to experience the insane combat mechanics in Wanted: Dead on Valentine’s Day,” said Sergei Kolobashkin, founder and Creative Director at 110 Industries. “The Wanted: Dead Explained videos will allow players to get a real taste of the action and see what they can expect from the game, so keep your eyes open for the next one!”.

Finishers Tips:

Wanted: Dead is not for the faint of heart, featuring over 50 savage and unique finisher moves that took over 100 hours of motion capture and a dedicated group of stuntmen to assemble.

Takedowns in Wanted: Dead are explosive in variety and feature situational kills, environmental hazards and unique takedowns specific to enemy types. These kills provide bloodthirsty visuals to the onslaught while also serving a vital tactical purpose through replenishing lost health. It’s not as easy as it may appear though, players will come to learn that executing takedowns and finisher moves are essential for progression and will make certain encounters beatable.

Unlocked very early on in the game is Hannah’s ultimate attack. This slick attack will help to stack up staggered enemies, dealing devastating chain finishers that can effectively take down an entire room of enemies. Finishing strikes work by each enemy having an invisible stamina bar (melee enemies typically have more stamina than ranged fighters). As the player damages enemies, this stamina bar depletes slowly and once their stamina falls to zero the enemy enters a staggered animation and can be executed by the player. Another way to attain a finisher is by using last-moment parries with a sword or side arm which automatically drains the enemy’s stamina, providing the perfect opening for a kill.

Wanted: Dead uses a smart system of triggering finishing animations. First, the algorithm looks for the possibility of an environmental kill or a situational kill like using an enemy’s own weapon against them. Then the algorithm ensures that the player has a strong visual variety by constantly moving and rotating around enemies to achieve epic takedowns. These finisher moves are not only visceral and breathtaking, but they also serve a combat purpose making for some truly action-packed gameplay.

“We had a lot of fun creating these unique finisher combos in Wanted: Dead and can’t wait for players to create some chaos on Valentine’s Day,” said Sergei Kolobashkin, founder and Creative Director at 110 Industries. “Stay in the action and keep an eye out for more Wanted: Dead Explained videos coming soon!”

Enemies & Bosses Tips:

Wanted: Dead serves a truly hardcore challenge with a wide range of enemy and boss types that must be strategically vanquished in order to progress.

In Wanted: Dead, you will encounter unknown teams of mercenaries, synthetic workers, an entire crime family and an elite private military, all prepared to skin you alive and hang you out to dry. Wanted: Dead is not an easy ride and will really test the player’s mettle as enemies will not go down without a fight so prioritising targets is one of the keys to success. From the previous Wanted: Dead explained videos, strategy in your fights is paramount as enemies attack in waves and you can quickly be overrun so using all of your skill sets and arsenal will allow you to conquer your foes in bloodthirsty style.

Stay on the move during your journey through Wanted: Dead or face certain death. If different types of enemy combatants weren’t enough, injured and limb-severed enemies are equally as dangerous to players as they will drag out the fight until their demise or yours. Keep a close eye on downed fighters as one wrong move or a sneaky grenade and it could all be over. Even low-ranking melee fighters can quickly deplete your health bar so making the right moves are important in order to quickly slash down enemies before they take too much of your vitals. When it comes to machine gunfighters, their strength is in numbers and if you rush in with no strategy you could see your life subscription being cancelled as a direct result.

In Wanted: Dead, elite enemies such as ninjas can easily make things go sideways with their varied attacks and fighting styles. Heavily armed exoskeleton fighters are equipped with heavy weapons and will occasionally barrage the player with grenades. Up close and personal, this enemy type proves to be the most dangerous on the battlefield and will require a certain level of mastery and daring to defeat. Is that a ‘Game Over’ screen you just saw? A few more of these and the ‘Neko mode’ is available just in case the player isn’t quite up to the challenge…

Since combat plays a huge part in Wanted: Dead, one of the essential ingredients to the game are bosses and they come in all shapes and sizes. These ferocious bosses include a mechanised walking tank with enough firepower to tear down a whole building. Synthetic worker turned revolutionary fighter that demonstrates some serious kung fu skills. A mercenary sniper with a cloaking device and a sharp blade that will tear you to pieces. A pair of insane homicidal twins out for blood and a slick sword fighter with incredible abilities and regeneration skills. Sharpen those blades, polish those bullets and get in the ring.

“We are very excited to reveal the varied and deadly enemy and boss types in Wanted: Dead that are sure to test your might,” said Sergei Kolobashkin, founder and Creative Director at 110 Industries. “Stay in the action and keep an eye out for more Wanted: Dead Explained videos coming soon!”
