12 Minutes How the Time Loop Works

Confused about how the time loop works in 12 Minutes? Check out this quick explainer video guide to help you figure out the trick to beat the game!

Twelve Minutes is a point-and-click adventure game from Luis Antonio and Annapurna Interactive starring James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe where you unravel a mystery behind a terrifying home invasion and a bizarre time loop. Collect information and objects to help you survive the loop, but don’t take too long.

How to NOT reset the time loop / restart the day and keep progressing:

1. The first one should be obvious, do not get physically hurt.
2. Do not step outside the front door before the intruder arrives.
3. Do not let the clock get to 10 minutes without completing certain tasks.

12 Minutes Tips and Tricks

Tip: The intruder always arrives at the same time, so pauze the game to stay in top of the clock’s current time. Remember to perform certain required tasks before the intruder arrives to be well prepared.

Trick: If all tasks are done you can either go to sleep in your bed to advance the time loop to the next beat OR you can explore the apartment for useful objects you might need in your next run.

Note: Pauze the game and look at the clock to find out where you are in the time loop.

And if all else fails and you keep dying or getting stuck, the player character will comment on certain things to help you out what to do next!
