Pokemon Sword and Shield TM Guide

A Technical Machine (aka TM) is an in-game item that is used to teach a Pokemon the move that’s inside the TM item. It will allow you to give the Pokemon in your party the moveset that’s best suited for that Pokemon’s type, so you can increase its attack power however you like! 😀

Tip: TMs can be bought at Pokemon Centers for money, or you can find TMs in the game world on the ground in Pokeballs. Their locations are revealed below.

Where to find TM06 Fly in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM06 Fly can be found in Stow-on-Side. Once there, you must go inside the building to the left of the stairs leading to the Stadium. Go inside the building and talk to the man dressed for winter and he will give you the TM.

Where to find TM07 Pin Missile in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM07 Pin Missile can be found on Route 4. It’s located at the northeast patch of grass, head to the east (right) side until you see the kid dressed as a Pikachu, to find the TM behind him.

Where to find TM11 Solar Beam in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM11 Solar Beam can be found east of Turffield town. However, it requires the bike upgrade (the float function) that allows you to cross over water. With the bike upgrade obtained, you must return to Turffield and head east out of the town until you reach a small bridge. Continue along the path past it to find a bank where you can enter the water. Follow it north until you reach a small piece of land containing TM11.

TM15 Dig can be found on Route 6. Go up the western ladder that leads to a campsite as well as the Fossil Restoration machine. TM15 is to the right of the camp.

TM16 Screech can be found in Circhester. Once you’re in Circhester, go inside the eastern branch of Hotel Ionia and take the elevator up. Go right and enter the first room. Talk to the hiker inside to receive TM16.

TM21 Rest can be found in Ballonlea. Once you’re in Ballonlea, follow the path right of the road leading to the Stadium to find TM21 near a couple of tall mushrooms.

Where to find TM22 Rock Slide in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM22 Rock Slide can be found on Route 9. However, it requires the bike upgrade (the float function) that allows you to cross over water. Use the float function of your bike to follow the southwestern edge of Route 9. Eventually, you’ll find a path tucked between rocks with a small sandy beach at the end where TM22 can be picked up.

TM24 Snore can be found in the Glimwood Tangle. Before the double trainers battle, follow the left path all the way to the end to find TM24.

TM27 Icy Wind can be found differently depending on the version you’re playing. In Pokemon Sword, it’s found in the house to the north of the Pokémon Center. As you walk on a road towards a red-banner bakery, look for a couple of small snowmen on the right-side, then enter the house to the left of them with the red-haired couple inside (the man will give TM27 to you). — In Pokemon Shield, TM27 will be obtained after defeating the Circhester Gym leader Gordie.

In Pokemon Sword, TM48 will be obtained after defeating the Circhester Gym leader Gordie. — In Pokemon Shield, it is found in the house to the north of the Pokémon Center. TM49 Sand Tomb can be found in Galar Mine No. 2. You’ll see a male trainer at a T-intersection. Go to the right to find TM49 at the dead end.

TM50 Bullet Seed can be bought in Hammerlocke at the western Pokémon Center for 10,000 PokéDollars.

Where to find TM51 Icicle Spear in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM51 Icicle Spear can be found in Circhester. Head to the Bath in the center of town to find it between the right set of pillars.

TM53 Mud Shot can be found in Galar Mine No. 2. However, it requires the bike upgrade (the float function) that allows you to cross over water. Look for the path with a pond blocking the way forward. Use the water bike to cross the ponds and find TM53 at the end.

TM54 Rock Blast can be found in the Galar Mine. After entering the mine, take the first path that veers to the left and follow it until discovering the opening leading back outside. On the ledge you’ll find TM54.

Where to find TM56 U-Turn in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM56 U-Turn can be found in the Glimwood Tangle. Go left past the older lady to follow a somewhat hidden path. Continue along it to the top route to obtain TM56.

Where to find TM57 Payback in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM57 Payback can be found behind Professor Magnolia’s house. Look for a path on the right side of the house, in order to get behind the house.

Where to find TM58 Assurance in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM58 Assurance can be found on Route 7. Head east on Route 7, towards the bridge. TM58 is tucked in a corner just before this bridge and near the campsite.

On Route 9, after crossing the bridge south of Circhester, use your bike’s water function at the nearby bank and travel west. At the southern end, there’s another bank where TM64 awaits at the end.

TM65 Shadow Claw is found in the Lake of Outrage section of the Wild Area. However, it requires the bike upgrade (the float function) that allows you to cross over water. Go onto the water and head right immediately to find a small piece of land with TM65 tucked in the corner behind the tree.

TM73 Cross Poison can be found in the Dusty Bowl section of the Wild Area. Cross the water at the northwest corner to reach the land at the other side where TM73 awaits.

Where to find TM74 Venoshock in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM74 Venoshock can be found in Stow-on-Side. Go to the west side of town to find a ladder leading to the roofs. Follow the path around to reach TM74.

Where to find TM75 Low Sweep in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM75 Low Sweep can be found in the Bridge Field section of the Wild Area. However, it requires the bike upgrade (the float function) that allows you to cross over water. There’s a small patch of land on the east side of the Wild Area surrounded by water. Use the bike to cross the water and obtain TM75.

TM76 Round can be bought in Motostoke at the western Pokémon Center for 10,000 PokéDollars.

Where to find TM77 Hex in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM77 Hex can be found differently depending on the version you’re playing. In Pokemon Sword, it is found in Ballonlea. Head inside the house just before the path to the Stadium and talk to the old woman inside to receive the TM. In Pokemon Shield, it will be obtained after defeating the Stow-on-Side Gym.

Where to find TM78 Acrobatics in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM78 Acrobatics can be found in Ballonlea, but you need to travel to Hammerlocke in order to receive it. Put on the Fire Gym Outfit then buy and wear the Fire Type Tracksuit Jacket, the Fire Type Trackie Bottoms, the Fire Type Sport Rucksack, the Fire Type Sport Cap, and the Fire Type Sport Sunglasses. While wearing this complete on fire outfit, return to Ballonlea and speak to the artist near the far left house (look for the giant green glow-in-the-dark mushrooms). He will reward you with TM78.

Where to find TM79 Retaliate in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM79 Retaliate can be found in Hulbury. After having the meeting with Rose in the seafood restaurant, Sonia will give you TM79.

Where to find TM80 Volt Switch in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM80 Volt Switch can be earned through the Rotom Rally in the Wild Area. You’ll be awarded TM80 after earning 20,000 points in a single race which can easily be done with a longer race.

Where to find TM81 Bulldoze in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM81 Bulldoze can be found in the Giant’s Seat section of the Wild Area. Go behind the large rock and head directly across from the nearby den to find TM81 tucked near the rock wall in front of a green bush.

Where to find TM82 Electroweb in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM82 Electroweb can be found in Hulbury. Go to the lighthouse and look in the upper right corner to find TM82 near the fence.

Where to find TM83 Razor Shell in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM83 Razor Shell can be bought at the Battle Tower in Wyndon for 100,000 PokéDollars. Get it from the League Official seller on the right side.

Where to find TM84 Tail Slap in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM84 Tail Slap can be found in the Dappled Grove section of the Wild Area. Go to the southwest corner where you’ll find a den. Nearby is a hollow log and inside is TM84. (It’s right next to Dappled Grove, in the Rolling Fields area.)

Where to find TM85 Snarl in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

TM85 Snarl will be obtained after defeating the Dark Gym in Spikemuth.
