Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Announced Alongside DLC Character Gill

Capcom has announced Street Fighter V: Champion Edition for PlayStation 4 and PC. It will launch physically on February 14, 2020 for $29.99, and is available now digitally via an “Upgrade Kit” for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition for $24.99. Newly announced downloadable content character Gill from Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact is included with the Champion Edition and will launch in December. A second unannounced character is also included.

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition includes all content from both Street Fighter V and Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (excluding “Fighting Chance” costumes, brand collaboration costumes, and Capcom Pro Tour downloadable content), adding each character, stage, and costume that released after Arcade Edition and that are planned for release with Champion Edition. In total, it includes 40 characters, 34 stages, and over 200 costumes. Other updates to Street Fighter V: Champion Edition include new V-Skills and balance updates that promise to “add new gameplay improvements and more depth to the combat system.”

All game mode additions and balance updates are free for owners of any Street Fighter V version. Additionally, all downloadable content characters remain earnable completely free of charge through completing various in-game challenges and receiving earned in-game currency, called Fight Money. For those who can’t wait, in-game content can be obtained instantly using real money. Certain additional content can only be acquired using Fight Money, which can be earned through normal gameplay.
