Talk show host Conan O’Brien is in Death Stranding because this is a Hideo Kojima game and anything can happen.

According to Kojima, O’Brien plays a character called The Wondering MC, who gives you the Sea Otter Suit “when you get connected with him”.

Death Stranding is littered with virtual recreations of Kojima’s celebrity pals, including the aforementioned Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Lindsay Wagner and Guillermo del Toro. Even Geoff Keighley gets in on the act.

During his show on TBS, Conan O’Brien talked about visiting the offices of Kojima Productions in Tokyo and getting 3D-scanned. You can see it in the video below. There’s footage of Hideo Kojima’s office and toy collection, if you’re into that sort of thing. Kojima has a doll of himself. Kojima and O’Brien watch the Death Stranding trailer where BB does that mouth thumbs up thing. O’Brien asked Kojima the question we’ve all been wondering for years now: “What is wrong with you?”

Kojima did not say at what point players will meet O’Brien in Death Stranding. As everything is under double-secret embargo, guess you won’t find out until the PlayStation 4 exclusive launches November 8.
