We’ve seen lots of animation in the League of Legends IP in the past, covering everything from cinematic showdowns between members of the cast of champions, to a fictional K-Pop band called K/DA performing the hit “Pop/Stars” in a heavily stylized music video.

Arcane will be aimed at the teen and adult League of Legends fanbase, and it’ll dive into existing League of Legends lore that has been teased in past.

Neither of the champions in the trailer were named, but they sure looked a lot like Jinx and Vi, who were hinted at being sisters for a long time, and recently confirmed by a Riot Games developer. Vi is a cop with giant mechanical fists and a big attitude, and Jinx is a bright and cheerful terrorist who wreaks havoc with an array of guns and explosions. Fans have long since theorized that Vi and Jinx are sisters, and Arcane will finally be digging into their past. The end of the trailer showed Jinx’s boots with her long blue braids swinging the background, so the story will definitely show what separated the two along their journey.

Arcane will be streamed on an existing service; its current home has yet to be announced.
