Unlockable Cheat Codes

How to unlock the cheats menu: In order for this to work you must first have unlocked debug mode by collecting at least 16 medals from the bonus stages. Then, you need to enable Debug Mode at the Secrets menu which is found by pressing X (on Switch) / Triangle (on PS4) / Y (on Xbox One) at the File Select screen when the “No Save” option is highlighted.

Once Debug Mode is turned on go back to the File Select screen, place the cursor on the “No Save” option and hold down the Y button (on Switch) / Square button (on PS4) / X button (on Xbox One) then press start. This will load the debug menu. To navigate the screen, use the Directional D-pad and press A (on Switch) / Circle (on PS4) / B (on Xbox One) to make a selection.

From there, you can play any level, bonus stages, and preview all the games songs via the Sound Test option. As well as activate newly discovered cheats by going to Sound Test and playing the following sounds to enable the desired cheat code.

Cheats list:
• 3 3 3 1 9 7 9 0 8 1 1 – Changes all animals into Squirrels.
• 4 1 2 6 – All Emeralds.
• 1 9 9 2 1 1 2 4 – Infinite Continues.
• 2 0 1 8 0 6 2 3 – Force Encore Mode.
• 1 9 8 9 0 5 0 1 – Unknown (All Medals?).
• 2 0 1 7 0 8 1 5 – Super Sonic Flight in normal levels (Don’t need to be Super to trigger it).
• 9 0 0 1 – Max Control For Sonic (Dropdash, Super Peel Out, Insta-Shield).
• 0 0 0 0 6 2 1 4 – Disable Super Music.

Sonic Mania Plus Cheats

Unlockable Modes, Retro Game & Moves

How to unlock secret Modes, a Retro Game & Classic Moves: You get these so-called “Secrets” by beating all of Sonic Mania Plus’s bonus stages, which are the Blue Sphere bonus stages, not the Chaos Emerald stages. If you collect enough Medals by successfully completing the Blue Sphere bonus stages you you unlock the following listed unlockables…

• “Super Peel-Out” Classic Sonic CD Move;
• “Insta-Shield” Classic Sonic 3 Move;
• “& Knuckles” Mode (Player 2 plays cooperatively with you as Knuckles instead of Tails);
• “Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine (AKA Puyo Puyo)” Classic Game;
• “Debug” Mode. (Note that this can also be activated with this cheat on the title screen: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, and then hold A, B & Y at the same time. Finally press X while playing.)

Note: Completing the game for the first time will unlock the following…

• “Time Attack” Mode
• “Competition” Mode
• “Stage Select” can be done by pressing up or down on the save file you’ve already completed the game with. — Shortcut: On the title screen press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, and then hold A, B & Y at the same time.

Unlockable Super Sonic / Tails / Knuckles

How to unlock the Super State: You can get the “Super Saiyan-like” Super State for Sonic, Tails or Knuckles, once you collect all seven Chaos Emeralds while playing with any of those three characters in Sonic Mania Plus! Activate it afterwards by jumping twice in a row. It makes you invincible, jump higher, and move faster.
