Finding all 28 Animal locations and picking them up will help unlock the following Achievement / Trophy:

Far Cry 5 Animals & Fishes
Tip #1: First unlock your dog companion Boomer by playing the story campaign in John’s region, at the Rae-Rae’s Pumpkin Farm, until you get him as part of the “Man’s Best Friend” Side Quest. Then set Boomer as an active “Fang for Hire” in order for him to spot / mark nearby wildlife animals for you.
Tip #2: Animals spawn in random locations and aren’t always next to the hunting location icons on the map. You may need to circle 200 meters around it. If no animals are present or have been hunted, fast travel to the nearest location and check again.
Also make sure to use your Ultimate Hunter Skill to find them quicker. And use your bait to attract the animals more easily.
Bonus: Each of these Animal Hunting Challenges requires you to skin a certain amount until you unlock your perk points for you to spend on your character.
Tip #3: As for catching fishes on the hard spots, you’ll need to have unlocked the 4th “Old Betsy” Fishing Rod. To get it beat each region’s state records by fishing at the hard spots across Hope County, as shown in our “Far Cry 5 Fishing Rods Locations Guide“.
Also make sure to use your “Fisher King” perk for Fishing Rod #3 & #4. With this perk you scroll over the Rod in the Utility wheel and press Triangle / Y to change the flies (lure). And pick the correct flies for each fish (Salmon, Bass, Trout, Sturgeon).
Hint: There’s a Hunting Challenges tracker counter on the Challenge menu that lets you see how many you’ve completed so far. – On PS4 press the Touchpad, then go to Challenges, press right on the Directional-Pad, and scroll down to the “Hunting” section.
Note: Other animals such as Bulls, Cows, Dogs, Ducks, Birds, Goats, Pigs, Snakes, etc. aren’t needed to complete the Challenges tracker count.
