Hunt: Showdown ‘History and Gameplay’ Developer Diary

Crytek released a developer diary for its upcoming supernatural multiplayer PC game Hunt: Showdown. This dev diary covers a ton about the game, from its troubled development as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, to its subsequent development and presentation at E3 this year.

Check Out the Hunt: Showdown Developer Diary:

The game started development as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age at Crytek USA, and was a cooperative four player online experience somewhat similar to Left 4 Dead, with the biggest differences being its set in a supernatural creature infested 18th century, and that it was a third person game. While the developers worked really hard on the game and made a decent amount of progress, even showing off the game at E3 2014, Crytek ended up going through some major reshuffling. This caused many studios to be shut down, including Crytek USA, so Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age was sent back to the drawing board.

That is where the game transformed into what it is now, a first person multiplayer experience where teams of two attempt to take down a supernatural beast and escape with its rewards.

Hunt: Showdown is currently only slated for a PC release, and does not yet have a release date.
