ReCore Walkthrough

Intro.

From the legendary creator Keiji Inafune, and the makers of Metroid Prime comes ReCore, an action-adventure crafted for a new generation.

As one of the last remaining humans on a planet controlled by robotic foes bent on your destruction, you must forge friendships with a courageous group of robot companions, each with unique abilities and powers. Lead this band of unlikely heroes on an epic adventure through a mysterious, dynamic world. You can’t save mankind alone. Survival Starts in the Core.

Story.

In the 2020s, Earth had been ravaged by a terrible disease called Dust Devil. A concerted global effort, led by an organization known as the Mandate, did its best to manage outbreak after outbreak of this deadly contagion. But the Mandate wasn’t able to stop Dust Devil. And they knew that human life on Earth was doomed.

So after receiving promising data from probes sent to Far Eden, the Mandate launched a series of missions to the planet. First, thousands of Corebots were sent to build atmospheric processing facilities capable of taming Far Eden’s storm-ridden atmosphere. Later, a first group of colonists that included Joule—but not her father—made the journey away from Earth.

These colonists would hibernate in cryo-sleep for 200 years while the terraforming process finished. When Joule and the other Far Eden personnel woke, they thought they would step out onto a garden world with blue skies, water, trees…

Well, that was the plan anyway.

Instead when Joule and her Corebot companion, Mack, awake, the terraforming machines have failed, most of the Corebots have gone rogue, and the other human colonists are nowhere to be found. The only contact Joule has with Earth is this centuries-old message from her Father.

Now, with the fate of humanity resting on her shoulders, it’s up to Joule to get Far Eden back on track. To do this she—and you—must explore Far Eden’s dunes and dungeons, braving untold dangers hidden beneath the surface of this beautiful and mysterious world.

Frequently Asked Questions.

– What’s ReCore about?

OVERVIEW

From the legendary creator Keiji Inafune and Armature Studio, the team behind the “Metroid Prime” series, comes “ReCore,” an action-adventure masterfully crafted for the modern generation. Play as Joule Adams, one of the last remaining humans, and forge friendships with a courageous group of robot companions, each with unique abilities and powers. Lead this band of unlikely heroes on an epic adventure through a mysterious, dynamic world. You can’t save mankind alone.

Who are the main characters in ReCore?

JOULE ADAMS

One of the first brave volunteers for the “Far Eden” colony, Joule Adams wakes after centuries in cryo-sleep to find that nothing has gone according to plan… With her trusty Corebot companion, Mack, Joule begins her adventure in Far Eden to save mankind from a terrible fate.

MACK

Designed for cheerfulness and loyalty, the Mack core is most comfortable in the K-9 frame. Like other Corebots of his type, Mack is responsible for the tracking and retrieval of components vital to the upkeep of “Far Eden’s” atmospheric processors and other equipment. Mack is also the designated companion of Joule Adams.

SETH (SP-DR)

Shy and sometimes fearful, Seth is nonetheless an extremely capable core who excels inside the SP-DR frame. Corebots of Seth’s type were assigned delicate, details-oriented construction tasks high above the shifting sands of Far Eden. Despite his nervous nature, Seth can reliably lift loads many times his weight over great distances.

DUNCAN (AP-3)

A rugged Core with a gruff and stubborn personality, Duncan is well-suited to the AP-3 frame. In this configuration, Duncan was originally tasked with excavating the foundations of the Far Eden colony. But he will now aggressively smash rocks and other obstacles that have clogged colony facilities over time.

VIOLET (V1-0LT)

The Core designated “V1-0LT” began her shift on Far Eden as a supervisor in Frame Salvage Yard 16. She was programmed with a brash, outspoken personality and strong leadership potential—and eventually gained responsibility over Far Eden’s Transfer Plates, a fast-travel system that significantly increases the mobility of the colony’s Corebot and human personnel.

Mission 1: The Planet Far Eden

Welcome to the ReCore walkthrough!

Oldschool will be your guide showing you around the game’s metroidvania areas.

At the end of this long first mission: After the sandstorm, the sands have shifted, revealing new adventures! You are now free to:
– Explore off the main story path. Seek out hidden Dungeons, where the fiercest enemies guard the best loot!
– Collect Blueprints, Crafting Materials, Cores and Experience Points by defeating wandering Corebots.
– Upgrade your Corebot companions at the Workbench inside Joule’s Crawler.

Note: Joule’s Health can be permanently increased by finding Health Boosters.

Tip: When a robot companion gets knocked out, to revive him, move to their location and hold the X button.

Mission 2: Pylon 512

Find out why Pylon 512 is offline with a Status Check. Then get more power by finding more Mysterious Cores to fix the Pylon.

Translation of the Robot Language: All Pylon 512 scenes with your Corebots translated into English!

Note: You can travel between any two Fast Travel points provided they have been found and activated.

Tip: To dash during combat move the left stick to the left or right and hold the B button to dodge attacks.

Mission 3: Whispers In The Sand

Investigate the distress signal.

Part 2 of the “Whispers In The Sand” Mission:

Note: Rifle Ammunition will recharge on its own over time.

Hint: Breaking an enemy’s Layer will put it into a staggered state, where they are most vulnerable to Lethal Attacks and Charge Shots.

Mission 4: Cavern Rush

Locate the offline Terraforming Pylon to find out why we’re in this Paradise Lost situation.

Note: The Higher the Core quality of an enemy, the more Fusion energy it will yield if Extracted.

Trick: The Instant Extract (press down on the RS right analogue stick) is a devastating smartbomb, so don’t waste your chance when it comes up!
Firing the Extractor at an enemy can interrupt its Lethal, even if its Core is not weak enough to Extract.

Mission 5: Detour

Find an alternate route around the Quarry Pit.

Tip: Dashing off of a ledge still allows for another Dash in the air after Jumping.

Note: Prismatic Core enemies can only be defeated by Extracting their Core.
