It was slim pickings on all the next-gen… er, current-gen consoles this year… But even among the heavy-hitting AAA’ers, it was the Indie Games that truly BROUGHT IT this year.
Especially if you are a Metroid/Castlevania/Platformer/Metroidvania fan, you can do no better than the absolutely incredible PS4-exclusive Axiom Verge. A game created by ONE MAN named Tom Happ. It’s such an incredible experience that I can’t imagine Nintendo themselves topping it… And I’m as big a Nintendo fan as you’ll find.
Axiom Verge is the game that Nintendo fans have been begging Nintendo to make for nearly two decades now… And Sony was able to deliver a Metroid experience exclusively to their console that not only tops the almighty Super Metroid; but delivers in spades a dagger straight to the heart of Nintendo fans everywhere. If the only system you own is a Wii U… You owe it to yourself to pick up a PS4 and drag-your-feet into Sony’s camp, if not only to experience this awe-inspiring game. You’ll thank me.
But whether you go indie or GO BIG, with games like The Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V, Fallout 4 and Mortal Kombat X… There were some incredible games this year all around. They are abound on PS4 so if Sony was your gaming choice this year, you should be a happy (wo)man indeed!
