How to find missing Dead Ghosts?: In-game the Dead Ghosts will appear similar to your floating robot buddy Ghost, except lying still on the ground with their blue visor light still glowing. Their colors can vary from bright white and orange to completely black. You can pick up to collect it when you stand next to it. It can be confirmed as being Dead Ghosts simply by getting near it, as the on-screen text will then tell you can press and hold the Square button to “Awaken Dead Ghost” on PlayStation or the X button to “Revive Dead Ghost” on Xbox, to get the Ghost Fragment.

Tip: Fallen Ghosts can be picked up in free roam on ANY mission, such as Story Missions or free roam Patrol & Explore Missions.

Does the game save each Dead Ghosts you collect?: Yes, the game will automatically save the Dead Ghosts you just collected if you picked up the Dead Ghost, so you don’t have to play to the end of the mission. But it’s still recommended you do so to save your collectibles progress in case of an online server disconnect. – Once collected, these Dead Ghosts cannot be picked up again.

The Dead Ghosts are listed in the videos in the order that they appear through Story progression. Their Story Mission name, objective & key features are shown on-screen per location.

Timeline in minutes for Crota’s End New Dead Ghosts Locations Guide:

• [0:10] — Dead Ghost Location #1: Can be found in the Crota’s End Raid (newly added to the The Dark Below). From the beginning area where the lamps are activated, go to the 6th lamp and from there turn to the right side to walk directly forward to the cliff’s edge. Follow the metal beam on the edge to find the Dead Ghost lying on the ground.
– Unlocks the “Ghost Fragment: Thorn 4” Grimoire Card.

• [1:23] — Dead Ghost Location #2: Can be found in the Crota’s End Raid. Shortly after finding the first Dead Ghost, you’ll come across the light bridge. As you run across the bridge and get to the end, keep walking forward but stick to the left side of the light tunnel until you reach the very last stone post in the tunnel. The trick to finding the Dead Ghost in this blindingly bright white light is before reaching the last stone post, is to turn around and walk backwards until your back hits the stone post, then jump back onto the top of the stone post where the Dead Ghost lies.
– Unlocks the “Ghost Fragment: The Hellmouth 2” Grimoire Card.

• [2:25] — Dead Ghost Location #3: Can be found in the Crota’s End Raid. Can be found either before you trigger the Crota fight or after the fight is over. From the boss fight area you drop into, go to the left-hand side where you can walk up the stairs into the room with the big lighted vertical pillar. From this central pillar you’ll see metal chains with lights hanging on them attached to the surrounding walls; from the room entry point it’s on the right side. Where the chain reaches the wall, you can see the Dead Ghost’s blue light but you cannot jump up onto it (unless your class has a hover ability), so you’ll have to do the next best thing and look to the left of it to find a coffin-like box you can jump onto, then crouch to the edge to get as close to the Dead Ghost on the chain as possible until you can reach it & pick it up.
– Unlocks the “Ghost Fragment: The Hellmouth” Grimoire Card.
