What got you into cosplay?
“A friend brought me along to the very first Ushicon. I took one look at everyone in costume and was hooked.”
What was your first costume and why?
“My first full-out, well done costume was Chun-Li. I grew up with 2 older brothers, so whenever I got a chance to play Street Fighter with them, I picked Chun-Li!”
What is your favorite costume and why?
“My favorite costume that I’ve made is my Poison Ivy costume. It’s hard to say I love something more than my Chun-Li costume, but I think I love whatever I made last the most, honestly. I didn’t make the Leia costume, but oh boy, I love it. I grew up watching the original trilogy and it’s such a fantastic and iconic costume, I was thrilled to get my hands on one. I thought I’d be more bothered that it was a little cliche, but the thought didn’t even register once I was at the con. I loved every minute of wearing it and hope Comic-con wasn’t the last time.”
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
“At Comic-con, a little girl came up to me while I was wearing my Slave Leia costume screaming: “Princess Leia! Princess Leia!” In that moment, I was really Princess Leia for her, and it was so adorable and heartwarming; I’ll never forget it.” – Via ACParadise
