Destroyer Trillion Announced In Japan. From Disgaea 4 Director (PSVita)

Destroyer Trillion (or Makai Shin Trillion in Japan) has been announced for PSVita as the first game in a planned series called “Hell’s #1 House” (or “Makai Ichiban Kan” in Japanese) by developer Compile Heart (of Hyperdimension Neptunia & Record of Agarest War fame). Destroyer Trillion will be released on May 21, 2015 in Japan. A Western date has yet to be given.

Check out this gameplay video of Destroyer Trillion in action… after a song & dance number featuring cute live-action Japanese cheerleaders of course! Oh Japan! What would we do without you?!

Destroyer Trillion takes place within a demonic hell separated into six layers.

The Demon King Zeabolos, having just lost an epic battle with the titular “Destroyer Trillion” (a monster whose HP clocks in at “1,000,000,000,000”, that’s “one-trillion”, naturally), makes a deal with a grimoire-wielding girl by the name of “Faust” in order to save his soul after his great defeat.

In exchange for Zeabolos’ soul, Faust grants him his life.

Thus Zeabolos sets out to fight against Trillion one last time. Only on the next occasion, he’ll do so alongside six Demon Lords who he will have at his disposal.

There are six Demon Lords (all based on the seven deadly sins of the Bible) in the game, each of whom appear in the form of (what else?) cute, sexy young girls.

The Demon Lords are named: Lucie, Levia, Phegor, Mammon, PelPel, and Asmedia.

In order for these girls to join you in helping to defeat the Destroyer Trillion, players will need to bond with these young lass’, and each girl… ahem, “Demon Lord”, has unique character quirks and character flaws that you’ll need to learn and exploit to properly train them.

Training the Demon Lords will trigger special events and the storyline will branch depending on how you play, with multiple endings.

The battle system meanwhile employs a cross of grid-based Strategy RPG gameplay like in Disgaea with Roguelike elements (like in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon) and Real-Time Action.

Here is a breakdown on each of the Demon Lord girlies: (thanks to Siliconera)

Lucie – Lucie is Zeablos’ niece, and is the Demon Lord who represents the sin of “Pride” and the arrogance of Lucifer. She seems to look down on Zeablos for having been defeated at the hands of Trillion, and has decided that she’ll take him on herself to become the next great Demon Lord. She was brought up with special education for the gifted, and has the pride to go with it. Lucie is very spoiled and a high-handed girl. She is also PelPel’s older sister.

Levia – Levia is Zeablos’ childhood friend who represents the sin of “Envy” or the jealousy of Leviathan. She puts on a mature demeanor by calling Zeablos “Great Demon Lord-sama” around others, but she shows a much sweeter side when she’s alone with him. She resents Trillion for having taken Zeablos’ life once, as she cares about him more than anything. A little too much, as she gets pretty hostile towards others when they seem to be having a fun chat with Zeablos.

Phegor – Phegor is Zeablos’ older sister, who represents “Sloth” of the Seven Deadly Sins, and the demon Belphegor. She also calls her brother “Zea-chin”. While she doesn’t speak much, she cares deeply for her brother, and has accepted the challenge against Trillion. She’s rather lazy and always likes to sleep around, but she is said to have tremendous magical powers.

Mammon – Mammon is Zeablos’ cousin, who represents the sin of “Greed” and the demon by the same name, Mammon. She has a bit of an open-hearted personality, and tends to wander off doing whatever she feels like. She decided to help Zeablos so she could become a great Demon Lord and gain all the riches of the underworld. She was originally in charge of guarding a certain gate of hell, but decided to go treasure hunting instead.

PelPel – PelPel is another one of Zeablos’ nieces, and her sin is “Gluttony”, derived from the demon Beelzebub. She’s Lucie’s innocent, lighthearted and somewhat foolish sister. She joins in on the fight against Trillion so that she can become a great Demon Lord to follow her dream of turning the underworld into a giant candy kingdom. She’s always been fond of Zeablos since she was little, because he would always give her sweets.

Asmedia – Asmedia is Zeablos’ cousin who represents the sin of “Lust”, and the demon Asmodeus. She calls Zeablos “little boy” and loves to show off her sex appeal. She has a special tendency that involves witnessing the catharsis of the enemies that die before her, and due to her desire to see what she would get from the death of Trillion, she decided to join.

Gameplay is broken down into two states: Essentially “Training” & “Attack”, or “Slumber” and “Advancing” (as they are called in the game), respectively.

Essentially, Destroyer Trillion will sleep, during which time you train your Demon Lords to level them up and improve their skills in order to eventually defeat the Destroyer.

However Destroyer Trillion will awaken from his slumber and “Advance” every so often at which point players will face him in battle, with the goal of chipping off as much of his 10 trillion HP (Hit Points or “health”) as possible during these fights. Eventually, it’s assumed, you’ll chip it all away and defeat him.

Actual battles against Trillion take place on grid battlefields where the Destroyer will make attempts and eventually cross your defensive line. In order to be successful in said battles, you will need to do as much as possible damage him (and take less damage yourself) BEFORE he crosses the line.

The Destroyer’s Minions: Rushdown, LongDistance,Support & IronWall

Destroyer Trillion will have four different types of Minions that he will take into battle with him. They are:

Rushdown Minions: High Attack Power; Actively bent on wreaking havoc for players.

Long Distance Minions: Keeps a safe distance from you as they lob long-distance attacks.

Support Minions: Defensive; Heals and Supports other types.

Iron Wall Minions: High in defense, this one can be expected to be found hovering around Trillion and protecting him first and foremost.

While Trillion will have his Minions, you will have “Booster Devils” at your disposal.

Created by Faust herself to withstand the poisonous miasma Destroyer Trillion exudes, the Booster Devils are “Anti-Trillion” soldiers whose purpose is to carry souls given to them by the inhabitants of Hell.

These cute lil guys will help you out (they can’t be controlled directly); and will raise each girl’s “CAP stat” (“Captioning”) allowing you to bring more and more of them into battle as you level each girl.

Another feature of Destroyer Trillion is the “Dying Skills” System.

As you might expect from the name, these are special moves that can be unleashed by each Demon Lord gal as they get close to dying. But it plays a big part in strategy, as getting a Demon Lord to near-death and using the Dying Skill will allow the Demon Lord that comes after her in the next battle to be put in a better position from the start, as that gal inherits the “torch” for the next fight.

Two of the Dying Skills are:

Transient Blow: Deals huge damage to Trillion by expending a Demon’s Lords remaining life force to the fullest.

Eternal Seal: Permanently seals off the skills used by one part of Trillion’s body by thrusting a huge weapon at his armor and breaking it.

While no American or European announcement for Destroyer Trillion or the “Hell’s #1 House” (or “#1 House In Hell”, depending on how it gets translated) series in general has been made yet; hopefully NIS America (who publishes the Hyperdimension Neptunia titles) or Aksys Games (who publishes the Record of Agarest War games) and their European counterparts will pick the game(s) up for international release.

Strategy RPG fans and those who enjoy games like Disgaea are surely in for a treat with Destroyer Trillion.

The game already sounds like loads of fun and I absolutely love the concept they have going on… Kind of like a crazy Japanese version of Dante’s Inferno… featuring cute anime-style chicks as the Demon Lords, naturally.

The game sounds like it is loaded with personality and comedy, which is what you’d expect from the developers involved in making the Disgaea games; and surely the writing will be on-point as well.

Let’s hope this one sees an American & European release.

Do you think Destroyer Trillion sounds like an interesting game?
