Destiny Glimmer Farming Guide

Welcome to the Destiny Glimmer Farming Guide. This guide shows the best methods and locations to gain massive amounts of Glimmer through farming. In fact, this Glitter Glimmer farming method should give you over 50,000 Glimmer per hour! 😀

Find out where to farm Glimmer in Destiny: Shown the fast way in this tutorial video.
Requirements: You need to have at least a level 14 or higher character. — And you’ll need to have gathered a few consumables called Black Wax Idols, which you’ll be able to find in the farming location itself by killing enemies that occasionally drop it.
Location: On the Moon play the “Shrine of Oryx” Mission on Hard (level 12); Go from the Hall of Wisdom to the Shrine of Oryx (a darkness zone).
How To Do It: Farm the Glimmer by finding the groups of 6 to 8 Hallowed Acolytes in the Hall of Wisdom (they have the yellow health bars above their heads). Use a consumable Black Wax Idol, which lasts around 10 minutes, and then start killing them on their weak spot (like headshots) and you’ll notice each killed enemy drops between 50 to 170 Glimmer depending on how well you aim! — Then when you’ve killed all the enemies in that area and collected their Glimmer, you can jump off the ledge into the lava to then find yourself respawned with all enemies back for you to kill again.

Glimmer Cap Warning: There’s a cap of 25,000 on the maximum amount of Glimmer you can have in your inventory.
So when you get close to the maximum, either park in your Vaults (that’s what your storage bank you access at the Tower plaza is called) or spend it on gear upgrades, ships, emblems and stuff. – Especially since Glimmer is shared between all your characters.

Tip: Consumables can also be used to boost your Glimmer pick-up rate! For example: When you go into a Strike Mission to face off against lots of Fallen, then use consumable Ether Seeds so that every kill rewards you with Glimmer and increases the drop amount.

Disclaimer: Bungie may patch any of these Destiny Glimmer Farming Guide methods at any time if they consider it an unfair advantage.

It’s said in the game that Glimmer is a programmable matter used as a power source in the past Golden Age of Humanity. In the present it’s used as a form of currency, mainly in The Last City. There Glimmer is used to buy various items & services from vendors in The Tower.

I hope these tips to farm Glimmer will help you buy all the items and upgrades you need.
