Destiny: How To Level Up Fast Guide

Welcome to the “Destiny: How To Level Up Fast Guide“. On this page we’ll show you a Experience Points Boost Guide, which explains how to get to level 20 fast in Destiny with the right equipment in the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 & PS4 open world Action-RPG FPS game.

Use this hint video guide to rapidly earn XP by grinding mid-game and speeding your way to level 20 for starters:

Tip: After you reach level 9, you should grind XP by going to the Tower’s Bounty Tracker and simply buying and playing/completing these The Crucible bounty missions. Even if you don’t win them all, you’ll notice that winning is not always the requirement. So you’ll gain lots of experience points fast.

As you “Level Up”, the game will give you on-screen messages with each level increase to let you know you can upgrade one of your Abilities. To do that press the Options/Select button on your controller to open up your Character screen.

Important: Although there are 20 proper character levels, after reaching level 20 you can get “Motes of Light” — a form of currency — with which you can buy gear that has “Light” stats, since earning experience points now creates “Motes of Light”. These “Light” gear items will help further boost your level to effectively reach the true maximum character level, level 29!

About Legendary & Exotic Items: Use your “Motes of Light” to buy Legendary and/or Exotic items from vendors — like the game says “find and equip armor which contains Light to increase your level above 20” — as these gear items will have the better “Light” stats and abilities you’re looking for!

The four armor pieces that can contain Light are: the helmet, breastplate, gloves, and boots.

Tips on how to get past level 20 in this video guide:

Unfortunately, during the first week after launch most players will get stuck at level 26, because you’ll need items from The Vault of Glass raid (opens September 16th) to further upgrade Legendary and Exotic items that help you reach level 27-29.

Destiny sandbox designer Sage Merrill shows you what a high-level hero can look like in this Level 29 character tour video:

Light Level Note: As you continue to level up beyond level 20, your Character sheet will remain at level 20, but the Character Select Screen and your Emblem will keep track of your effective level between level 20 to 29.

Light upgrade calculations by Birkholz show exactly how much Light is required to level up:

Level 21: Requires 21 Light.
Level 22: Requires 32 Light.
Level 23: Requires 43 Light.
Level 24: Requires 54 Light.
Level 25: Requires 65 Light.
Level 26: Requires 76 Light.
Level 27: Requires 87 Light.
Level 28: Requires 98 Light.
Level 29: Requires 109 Light.
Level 30: Requires 120 Light.*

* 120 Light was reached for the first time 2 weeks / 107 hours of playtime after release.
Upon gaining level 30 the player N3AC3Y’s stats were:
Defense: 1463
Light: 120
Agility: 7
Discipline: 48
Intellect: 308
Strength: 115

I hope these tips to level up fast will help you get to level 30.
