How to find missing Optional Objectives?: In-game the Optional Objectives will appear on each mission’s map as optional goals for you to attempt during the story campaign (look at the list above for a page with a general walkthrough). You can take up the Optional Objectives by visiting the indicated map location(s) and not finishing your mission until after you get it done, and upon completion an on-screen message will appear on your right saying you were successful (at killing, disabling, etc.).

Tip: You can get to any Optional Objectives you’re missing at any time via the Mission Select. There you’ll find a collectibles counter for each mission, which shows exactly how many you’ve done in total. In the Main Menu of the campaign you can see your total collectible progress.
Alternatively, hold down the Select button to see how many collectibles you have found in the mission you’re currently in.

Does the game save each Optional Objective you collect?: Yes, the game will automatically save the Optional Objectives you just completed, so you don’t have to play to the next checkpoint or the end of the mission. Even if you die after finishing the Optional Objective, you won’t have to do it again.
After completion you can safely quit the mission without losing collectibles progress.

Note: Completing all the Optional Objectives also counts towards 100% completion of the Sniper Elite III: Afrika campaign.
Doing this in each mission is easier if you first clear the enemies from the area where the objective(s) are found, and then go back to explore the area uninterrupted.
