Developed by Visceral Games (the same guy’s who made the Dead Space games & Dante’s Inferno, one of my personal favorites) in collaboration with EA Digital Illusions CE (Mirror’s Edge, all the Battlefield’s), Battlefield Hardline blew away the crowd and absolutely impressed me like I didn’t think a new Battlefield game could.

Due to the fact that the military FPS, wargame genre has grown stale, with so many iterations of both the Call of Duty & Battlefield franchises (among others), EA finally decided to take the series off the war theme entirely and infuse it with something entirely different.

This isn’t just a future setting. Oh no. This is…. COPS & ROBBERS BABY!

Here’s another in-depth look at Battlefield: Hardline from the E3 2014 show floor.

That’s right. The biggest new feature of Battlefield: Hardline, is the fact that you now get to play as a member of the policeforce or as a criminal. And that means that all of the trappings you’d expect are along for the ride!

Police have access to everything from cop cars, which they can shoot while driving, to police helicopters to handcuffs to Swat Teams. Criminals meanwhile, can also bring the pain with a myriad of different weapons at their disposal. Check the videos for more info!

Battlefield: Hardline is now in beta, so definitely check it out if you have a PC or PS4 (only platforms supportin the Closed Beta) and sign up on the Battlefield: Hardline official website.
