LittleBigPlanet 3 made a huge splash at Sony’s Pre-E3 2014 Press Conference, where the game received extended live-action play directly on the stage where debut gameplay was shown for the first time. Although initially announced exclusively for PS4, Sony community co-ordinator Steven Isbell confirmed LBP3 is also coming to PS3!

LittleBigPlanet 3 for PlayStation 3 & 4 will hit stores this November 2014 & is being developed by Sumo Digital instead of Media Molecule.
The biggest new feature this time is the addition of three all-new characters to the franchise, each of which has multiple special abilities, and the addition of four-player online & offline co-op gameplay, similar to New Super Mario Bros. Wii series, where up to four characters appear on-screen at once!
The new characters introduced in LBP3 include Oddsock, a super cute four-legged doggy made of a sock, who has the ability to wall jump (like Mario or Samus), and is also the fastest of the four characters. The 2nd character is Swoop, a bird who can carry other characters & objects around the stage and can also fly in any direction.
The third new character is Big Toggle, a giant sack-of-potatoes-like dude who is so heavy that he can weigh down platforms and step on pressure plates other characters can’t activate. The final new characters is Little Toggle, a small version of his daddy-o, who is so light he can run across water and fit into tight spaces the others can’t. Sackboy also returns (naturally).

Fans will be especially happy to hear that LittleBigPlanet 3 is not only compatible with EVERY SINGLE piece of custom-created content and level ever made for the first two games, but will also up the graphical and texture capabilities of those old levels when played in LBP3, making them prettier than ever before.
In addition, all of the previously downloaded DLC you have bought for LBP1 and LBP2 can be transferred to LBP3, including all costume packs! Hurray!
When creating a level, players will be able to pick and choose which characters they want to be forced to solve the puzzles in their user-created stage, therefore incorporating the new character-specific abilities that the game offers into their masterful level designs. This opens up a range of new possibilities!
LBP3 is the follow-up to the extremely success user-generated platformer/videogame-creation-tool franchise that includes the original LittleBigPlanet (PS3, 2008) and it’s sequel LittleBigPlanet 2 (PS3, 2011) as well as LittleBigPlanet PSP (2009) and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita (2012).
Two other LBP spin-offs were also released: SackBoy’s Prehistoric Moves (PS3, 2010) that made use of the PS3 Move Controllers, and LittleBigPlanet Karting (PS3, 2012) that took the franchise into the mascot gokart racing genre.
