How To Unlock All Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z Characters
At the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z launch on January 24th in Europe/Australia and January 28th, 2014 in America/Canada; 75 characters will be available in the roster. 3 of those will be pre-order DLC exclusive characters, and 5 of them are boss characters (who may or may not become available).
How To Unlock Characters: As you play through the game’s Story Mode, you’ll unlock one or more new playable characters as you complete each Mission. Using our Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z Walkthrough you’ll unlock all of the Good & Evil Route characters from the Saiyan, Frieza, Cell & Majin Buu Sagas. Upon completing those you’ll have unlocked Extra Missions to play. You can go ahead play to clear all (up to #60) Missions in Another Age, Extra Age, and Special Age. Completing these Missions on A to S rank will unlock the most desirable and hard-to-get characters in the game. Good luck and remember to consult our Walkthrough page’s videos (linked above) to find out how to get A & S ranks!
Best Method To Unlock All Characters In Story Mode:
STEP #1: Unlock Legendary Super Saiyan Broly by clearing Mission 49 with at least an S rank. (This unlocks Mission 50 as well.)
STEP #2: Equip LSS Broly with 2 Cards to turn him into a tank, since he’s basically a Cyborg-Guard auto-guard with good resistance. Note that the higher the Card Level the better.
Card 1 = Broly Berserker Card level 1-3: As HP is Reduced, damage from Specials moves is Increased.
Card 2 = Krillin Potential Card level 1-3: As HP is Reduced, Defense is Increased.
STEP #3: Give LSS Broly 3 Supports, specifically 2 Android #18’s and 1 Fat Buu. Equip Support with Cyborg Guard & Yakkon Ki Absorb.
STEP #4: Start the fight by immediately telling your Support what to do. On your controller press on D-Pad Down so they Defend, Share Energy & Evade Attacks; OR alternatively you can press on D-Pad Right so they Focus & Attack on the Closest Enemy(s). Especially with the D-Pad Down “Defense” you’ll receive almost endless energy through the whole match to help you win missions the easy way with high S, SS & Z ranks! 😀

Strongest Characters Tip: To help you find out who the strongest characters in the game’s single player and co-op modes are when using cards, fans have made the following stats overview. If you want to figure out the power level with “Fruit from the Tree of Might”, then you can use a calculator…
The favorites for best character so far seem to be: Super Saijan God Goku, Bills AKA Beerus, Whis, Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, Meta-Cooler, Kid Buu, Fat Buu, Super Vegito, Teen Gohan, and Gotenks.
