January 7

Inequality for All – A documentary that follows former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich as he looks to raise awareness of the country’s widening economic gap.

Thanks for Sharing – Starring Mark Ruffalo, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Tim Robbins. A romantic comedy that brings together three disparate characters who are learning to face a challenging and often confusing world as they struggle together against a common demon: sex addiction.

We Are What We Are – Starring Bill Sage, Ambyr Childers, and Julia Garner. The Following: The Complete First Season – Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Kevin Bacon and UK’s James Purefoy (Rome) star in this terrifying new thriller from Kevin Williamson (The Vampire Diaries, Scream). When notorious serial killer Joe Carroll (Purefoy) escapes from death row and embarks on a new killing spree, the FBI calls former agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon), a psychologically scarred veteran who captured Carroll nine years earlier, after Carroll murdered 14 female students on a college campus where he taught literature.

It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (Criterion Collection) – Stanley Kramer followed his Oscar-winning Judgment at Nuremberg with this sobering investigation of American greed. Ah, who are we kidding? It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, about a group of strangers fighting tooth and nail over buried treasure, is the most grandly harebrained movie ever made, a pileup of slapstick and borscht-belt-y one-liners performed by a nonpareil cast, including Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Ethel Merman, Mickey Rooney, Spencer Tracy, Jonathan Winters, and a boatload of other playing-to-the-rafters comedy legends.

January 28

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 – Starring Bill Hader, Anna Farris, and Will Forte. Flint Lockwood now works at The Live Corp Company for his idol Chester V. But he’s forced to leave his post when he learns that his most infamous machine is still operational and is churning out menacing food-animal hybrids.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa – Starring Johnny Knoxville, Jackson Nicoll, and Greg Harris. 86-year-old Irving Zisman takes a trip from Nebraska to North Carolina to take his 8 year-old grandson, Billy, back to his real father.

Last Vegas – Starring Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, and Morgan Freeman. Three sixty-something friends take a break from their day-to-day lives to throw a bachelor party in Las Vegas for their last remaining single pal.

Rush – Starring Daniel Bruhl, Chris Hemsworth, and Olivia Wilde. A re-creation of the merciless 1970s rivalry between Formula One rivals James Hunt and Niki Lauda.
