Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD brings us the first female protagonist, Aveline de Grandpre, who is modeled by actress Li Caihua AKA Rain Lee; with Ubisoft’s female pinup Assassin design by Will Murai brought to life by cosplayer Jessica Cambensy.

The following gallery contains photos from the Sony and Ubisoft launch event of “Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation” in Hong Kong, from when the action-adventure stealth game first came to PlayStation Vita portables on October 30th, 2012. The game has now received a console/computer HD remake titled “Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD” for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows PCs via the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Steam; which is set for release on January 14th, 2014.
Rain Lee’s costume is a perfect replica of Aveline from the game, wielding an axe and all. Attending press photographers for some unknown reason seemed more taken by Jessica Cambensy who dressed in the full Assassin’s Altair outfit (female version), which includes the classic Assassin extendable hidden blade.

Aveline de Grandpre’s character bio reads: Aveline was born in 1747 of French and African heritage, who lived in the area of New Orleans during the middle of the 18th century, and joined the Assassin Brotherhood in 1759. A woman of conviction, Aveline is fighting for freedom in 18th century New Orleans — a city on the brink of a rebellion as the Spanish Empire imposes its new rule.
To quote her: “I stand with those who stand with me. I lure my prey through the guise of a lady. I escape unnoticed through the veil of a slave. And though I may conceal my identity, one thing is certain: commit injustice in this world, and I’ll send you to the next. I am Aveline de Grandpré, I am an Assassin, and I fight for liberation.”
