Note: Make sure you DO NOT have your Xbox One with Kinect nearby and turned on while you’re watching this video or it’ll hear and execute the commands said herein.

Here’s the list of 5 Xbox One tips and tricks covered on video:

1. What the Menu button does. Press the Xbox One controller’s Menu button, the button with the three horizontal lines on it, to access context-sensitive options anywhere you are on the Xbox One dashboard’s main menu. — For example, pressing the Menu button in the Party App will allow you to quickly make your Party invite-only.

2. Instant access to any app or game. With Kinect turned on, simply say “Xbox go to [insert app/game name here]” to go to the name of the app or game you want. — If you don’t know the name of the app or game on your screen, you can say “Xbox select” to display all names of the on-screen app/game tiles on top of said tiles; thus allowing you to say the name of the one you want to go to.

3. Quickly return to your prior app or game. Saying “Xbox go back” will immediately return you to the app or game you were using previous to the one you’re in right now.

4. A new Xbox One voice command lets you immediately record videos of whatever you’re doing in-game. Saying “Xbox record that” will set a start point for your video clip recording, which actually begins 30 seconds before you asked it to record, very handy in case something awesome JUST happened! — The Xbox One can record up to 5 minutes of gameplay at a time.

5. How to switch back and forth between full screen and the split-screen snap feature. In case you just multi-tasked by saying “Xbox snap [name of the app you want to snap]”, you’ll now have a ‘second screen’ snapped to the right side of your screen to for example track your activity feed while you’re doing something else. In that case, you can either double-tap on the Xbox “X” button with the white light that’s at the center of your Xbox One controller, or you can simply tell Kinect to do it for you by saying “Xbox switch” to switch back to full screen again.
