Outlast Walkthrough

Chapter 6: Father Martin Is Outside

Find the Key to unlock the Elevator and avoid the crazy doctor Rick Trager. Once you’ve gone down, go to find Father Martin outside, but be stealthy about it.

Note: Don’t forget to pickup the CIA document in the office right of the EXIT. There’s the MKULTRA CIA Hypnotic Homicide program excerpt that talks about the amnesia machine that changes personalities to have no morals.

Chapter 7: Key To The Gate

Doug continues his psychedelic journey into the Mount Massive facility to find the key and open the gate. Will he keep his wits about him… or will Outlast “outlast” HIM!? 😉

Chapter 8: Key To The 3rd Floor & Theater Room

New Objective after opening up the 3rd Floor: Follow the blood.

Note: As the prisoner tells you, the Key to the house of God is in the theater AKA the Recreation Hall, behind the light. Go see the movie, that’s where the card was left. And after that on the new floor walk past the praying crazies, towards the Chapel (follow the sound of bells) to grab the Elevator key as well.

Chapter 9: The Morphogenic Engine & Ending

Let’s meet up with Father Martin in the Chapel. He fixed the elevator and promised us freedom… instead, we get taken to the heart of Mount Massive, The Morphogenic Engine.

The End.

What did you think of the ending?

It seems the tech companies were using the Morphogenic Engine (which as it turns out is the size of a football stadium) to turn the humans of this asylum into carriers for their sentient nanomachines swarm project. With the purpose of Project Walrider being a hypnosis controlled supersoldier that could heal itself with these nanomachines and has the ability to astral project a swarm of them to distract/kill the enemy. Of course when you cannot control its effect you get an asylum filled with crazies killing each other; with a cloud of Bill’s nanomachines (the sole survivor of the process – artificially being kept alive) hovering around with no purpose except to possess humans to create more of itself as it kills the others from the inside. And then when the sentient nanomachines swarm’s host dies it goes to find a new host to protect, the protagonist, creeeepy!
