E3 2013 EA Press Conference Roundup

The E3 2013 EA Press Conference broadcast aired today, has revealed brand new information about EA’s game lineup. EA’s E3 2013 keynote conference started on June 10th at 1:00PM PDT / 4:00PM EDT / 9:00PM GMT and lasted one hour. What follows is a bulletpoints roundup.

It started with the expected: Battlefield 4, Dragon Age 3, Madden 25, FIFA 14, NBA Live 14.
Surprises and new game showings this year were: Star Wars: Battlefront 3, Mirror’s Edge 2, Plants VS. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Peggle 2, and Titanfall.

E3 2013 EA Press Conference Roundup:

  • Plants VS. Zombies: Garden Warfare Announced. Intro spoofs Battlefield 4 music. Third-person action title by Popcap, still has tower defense gameplay. Launching first on Xbox One, then coming to Xbox 360. 4-player co-op survivor mode gameplay shown. Sunflower is the healing class, Cactus is the long-range sniper type. After normal waves on enemies, comes the boss wave.
  • Peggle 2 Announced. Coming in 2013. Shortest announcement ever, all we know is that it’s coming.
  • Titanfall E3 2013 Trailer. Respawn’s first game is coming in Spring 2014 to Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC! Behind-the-scenes look with the developers talking about making the game.
  • Star Wars: Battlefront 3 Announced. In development at E3 2013. Trailer shown.
  • Need for Speed Rivals Announced. In development at EA Ghost Games. Trailer shown. You can play through the game offline, but online co-op and multiplayer adds ability to start a race in singleplayer that can end in a multiplayer event.
  • Need for Speed Movie. Making-of video for the 2014 movie shows the Breaking Bad star racing and crashing expensive cars.
  • Dragon Age 3 E3 2013 Trailer. Dragon Age 3: Inquisition launches in Fall 2014. Next-gen RPG promised by BioWare.
  • NBA LIVE 14 E3 2013 Trailer. CGI basketball trailer. Only on Xbox One and PS4. Cover athlete Kyrie Irving presents EA’s new dribbling tech called BounceTek that seperates the ball from the hand. NBA Worlds adds the latest NBA stats to the game one hour after it happens.
  • Madden NFL 25 E3 2013 Trailer. Actual football gameplay trailer. Xbox One and PS4 versions shown. Coming in Fall 2013. “War in the trenches.” Adrian Peterson is the cover athlete.
  • FIFA 14 E3 2013 Trailer. Pre-alpha soccer gameplay shown. Xbox One and PS4 versions shown. Coming in Fall 2013. Lionel Messi is the cover athlete. Pro instincts allow players to anticipate better precision movement and keep momentum. Elite technique adds 100’s of new skills, so you’ll feel like the real athletes.
  • EA Sports UFC E3 2013 Trailer. CGI fighting trailer. Only on Xbox One and PS4. Coming in Spring 2014. Announcer Bruce Buffer introduces some of the fighters that appear in the game. MMAi system allows varied fighting. Full body transformation.
  • Battlefield 4 E3 2013 Trailer. Levelution allows destructable environments, impact land, sea, and air. New Commander Mode can be played in-game and on Smartglass/touch-screen devices while you’re out of the house. Big 16-player multiplayer game shown with soldiers jumping off a collapsing giant skyscraper.
  • Mirror’s Edge 2 Announced. Footage from game engine. Same colorful futuristic art style as the original game. DICE says it’s “Coming… when it’s ready.” Faith is back!
