How To Unlock Ranger Mode

First run “Limited Edition” copies of Metro: Last Light include Ranger Mode, a downloadable hardcore difficulty mode. If you didn’t pre-order the only way how to unlock Ranger Mode is by buying it as $5 / €5 / £4 DLC from launch day on Steam, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Live Marketplace.

Players who pre-order the game from a retailer of their choice in all regions where it is available will receive the Ranger Mode DLC for free in addition to the standard game. Metro: Last Light will be available from May 14, 2013 in North America and May 17, 2013 across Europe for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

• Bonus 1: Recommended for Metro veterans, Ranger Mode offers the ultimate challenge, featuring a HUD free display for increased immersion, deadlier combat, and dramatically limited resources such as ammunition and gas mask filters. Experience complete immersion: No HUD. Less bullets. Brutal Combat. Hardcore.
• Bonus 2: Players who dare to rise to the challenge in Ranger Mode will benefit from a unique Ranger load out, including an exclusive weapon, the Russian AKSU, a modified rifle. A compact but deadly Russian assault rifle, perfect for claustrophobic combat.
• Bonus 3: Players of Ranger Mode will also be rewarded with an additional 100 military grade rounds with which to customize their starting equipment. Coveted for their ability to kill, these bullets are also the currency of the Metro. Will you use them in battle or purchase precious resources? The choice is yours.
• Bonus 4: On Steam, Amazon & other select retailers a pre-order also gets you the 16-Page Metro Last Light Digital Comic created by Dmitry Glukhovsky. This is the author who wrote the books, Metro 2033 & Metro 2034, that the Metro games are based on.
