Finding all Document locations and pick them up will help unlock the following Achievements / Trophies:
* “Bookworm” (10 Gamerscore / Bronze Trophy) — 25% of all documents found.
* “Historian” (15 Gamerscore / Bronze Trophy) — 75% of all documents found.
* “No Stone Left Unturned” (50 Gamerscore / Gold Trophy) — Find all documents, relics and GPS caches.

How to get started with finding 100% of the collectibles?

The video guide at the top of this page shows you the map with all the locations of the Document collectibles.

This is to be used in conjunction with the Cartography skill in the Survivor Skill Tree. You will need to unlock Tier III – it is the 9th skill. This skill allows you to use ‘Animal Instinct’ to reveal nearby collectibles on your in-game world map. They will be outlined with a question mark, which means it has not been collected. Collected items will be blackened out on your map.

When you use ‘Animal Instinct’ and reveal collectible locations on your map, you can set a waypoint on your map (when hovering over it, press the ‘A’ button on Xbox 360 or on PS3 press the ‘X’ button), to help you locate it as you play. Then you can use ‘Animal Instinct’ again and a blue beacon of light will show you exactly where the collectible is.

Note: Challenge items are not shown on the map. You’ll have to find these for yourself.

What if I need to see in-game environment item locations?

The in-game collectibles locations for the Documents are shown in the below detailed video guides.
The Documents locations are listed in the video in the order that they appear as you travel that region of the island.

Does the game save each Document that I collect?

Yes, the game will save the Documents you just collected right away. Successfully picking it up will be indicated on-screen by the item name appearing, as well as showing you you’ve gained additional XP (experience points) for your trouble finding this item.

How do I get the reward for the Documents I’ve collected?

The trophies/achievements will unlock once you a target percentage or find all of the collectibles. The final achievement/trophy will pop up when you pick up/collect the last collectible.
