Castlevania Mirror of Fate Walkthrough

Continuing the story that began in 2010’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Mirror of Fate picks up the action 25 years later as Gabriel’s descendants – Trevor Belmont and his son, Simon – prepare to face their destiny and discover the shocking truth of Gabriel’s fate. As Trevor sets off to avenge the death of his mother at his father’s hands, Gabriel returns as the powerful vampire Dracula and now threatens to destroy the Brotherhood and anyone else who opposes him, setting the stage for an epic father-son showdown.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate lets you play as three generations of the Belmont family. Play as both Trevor and Simon as they learn more about their family’s legacy. Through each era, you can take control of the Belmonts and their unique skills and abilities as they take on Dracula and his minions. You can even take control Gabriel one more time in a new prologue level that takes place before his tragic transformation.

Whichever Belmont you play as, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate dishes up a combination of combat, magic and exploration-based gameplay. As expected, whip combat plays a big part of the action and helps the ‘extreme platforming’. Use magic to turn the tide of battle and unload a huge array of combos for action with depth. You can even buy new combos and abilities with the experience you earn in combat.

This combat comes to the fore in the boss battles of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. The battles – and the bosses – are massive in scale, and you’ll need to make full use of climbing and traversing your environment, and using all your weapons and magical abilities to take them down.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate also boasts a unique visual style. Continuing the same epic designs seen in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Mirror of Fate offers unrivaled, high resolution graphics and a series of stunning 3D locations as you make your way through the perils, pitfalls and platforms of the castle.

Key Game Features:

  • Epic 20-hour adventure.
  • Play as several generations of the Belmont family.
  • Intense platforming gameplay combining combat, magic and exploration.
  • Massive boss battles.
  • Unrivalled 3D visuals.

PROLOGUE: Gabriel Belmont & ACT I: Simon Belmont

In the “PROLOGUE: Gabriel Belmont” we meet up with Gabriel Belmont one year before his fight against the Lords of Shadow.

The story then quickly moves to “ACT I: Simon Belmont“, where Gabriel Belmont’s grandson (Simon Belmont) of the son (Trevor Belmont) he didn’t know he had with Marie Belmont.

Let’s get the walkthrough started. Hyper-excited (and sometimes profanity-laden) voice-over provided by Zero.

Here’s some background info on Simon, who you’ll be playing as in ACT I:

Simon Belmont Bio: Born 1067 / Age – 36

History: “At the age of six, Simon’s parents were murdered by the forces of Dracula, and Simon was lucky to escape with his own life. Lost and alone, he was found in the forest by some of the mountain people. Simon was taken in and raised amongst them.

Simon never forgot what had happened to his parents and vowed to deliver vengeance one day upon those responsible. He trained hard and was extremely gifted in combat, yet life was hard for young Simon growing up. Always an outcast amongst the tribe, he developed a strong will and stubborn attitude that would always boil over into rage, and men soon came to fear him and his prowess in the arts of war.

He fiercely protected a fragment of mirror given to him by his father and always wore it around his neck for safekeeping.

Many years passed, yet the rage and yearning for revenge never left his heart. So one day he left the relative safety of the mountains and headed towards the land of his birth, to seek out the one they call the Dragon, to meet him face to face, and destroy him forever, little knowing that the curse of his family name would lead him into darkness and a terrible truth.”
