Mad Doctor Final Boss Fight & Ending
The Mad Doctor was never nice after all. Now it’s up to Mickey and Oswald to stop the Mad Doctor once and for all in this final boss fight.
Boss fight tips: When the first part of the boss fight starts, the Mad Doctor’s Claw will attack you.
To beat it you must fill up the Claw’s red eye with paint/thinner until all four light bars are full, all the while avoiding the Claw’s many attacks, while at the same time also jumping over obstacles!
What attacks to expect & how to attack the Claw back:
– Avoid attacks prefaced by a red dot on the ground by avoiding that red-marked location.
– Avoid lightning attacks by jumping up before they hit the ground.
– Avoiding his smash-down attacks is best done by moving to the sides of the screen to outrun it…
You’ll find after a smash attack the Claw will be stunned leaving it open to be painted/thinned. Other ways to stun it so you can attack it are: have Oswald stun it with his shock attack, and use Sketches to stun/distract the Claw.
The second part of the boss fight sees you taking on the Mad Doctor’s Spider.
Paint/thin the Tiki Masks guarding his metal Spider. Wherever the Spider walks, be elsewhere, to avoid its attacks and fast running. Be wary of the Spider’s paint thinner being sprayed at you throughout the fight, as this can take out the pink platforms you’re standing on from underneath you, so keep moving around. It helps to collect the powerups from falling rocks after they hit the ground, for example dropping an Anvil Sketch on the Spider will daze it long enough for you to paint/thin more of the Tiki Masks. As always in boss battles, a shock from Oswald does the trick to temporarily stun the boss as well.
Once the Tiki Masks are painted/thinned out, the game reveals an access panel for Oswald to reprogram and release the Guardians, who in turn attack the Spider. At this point you should follow the stairs that appear to find the Disney Snow Globe. Continue on this second level until you reach the Spider again to beat him a second time using the same methods.
Note that using paint (opposed to thinner) will mean you’ve got a longer boss fight ahead of you, but your reward will be that the game gives you the happy ending where the Mad Doctor is redeemed!
Be sure to watch these long credits all the way to the ending! Because there’s a secret ending that plays after the credits! It shows a hint at who the villain will be in the next Epic Mickey game if it gets made! 😀
