“Prologue” Blacksmith Design Locations

Here’s how to find Blacksmith Designs in this guide for Lego Lord of the Rings.

Protip: Go and find the “Fetch Quest Finder” Red Brick first. It’ll make it a lot easier to find all the Fetch Quest sidequests around you wherever you are, a reward for these involving a Blacksmith will be a Blacksmith Design.
You can either unlock this Red Brick using the EY4K32 cheat in the pause menu’s “Extras” Enter Code section. Or find this Red Brick in Middle-earth open world by finishing the blacksmith tutorial mission in Bree village, by walking up to the Prancing Pony inn and talking to the hobbit who wants a Mithril Item made. And as you probably guessed, you need a Blacksmith Design from that Fetch Quest to craft such Mithril Items.

Below we’ve listed the Blacksmith Designs in the order you might find them in as you progress through the game. Take the following steps to unlock each one; where available.

Blacksmith Design #1: Mithril Shovel – The first one you will unlock will be during the story mission in the town of Bree early in the game. It introduces this new feature and you make the Mithril Shovel.
Blacksmith Design #2 – During the Pass of Caradhras mission, this one comes about 3/4th of the way into the mission. When you have to cross a lower path with Gimli or a hobbit, you will come to a ledge at the bottom of the screen. You will also hear the standard tingle noise when a collectible is nearby, so go out onto the ledge at the bottom of the screen and pick up the design. – Etcetera…
