Skyrim: “The Dragonborn Comes” (Vocal/Acoustic Cover)

Welcome to our Video Games: Song Covers segment. Here I’ll be singing some of your favourite and most requested video game tracks.

Hi gamers! Thank you to everyone who voted in the last video game song poll! Here I’m performing the winning song “The Dragonborn Comes”. The song is featured in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and can be heard sung by bards throughout the game. The Skyrim soundtrack was composed by Jeremy Soule. My performance was inspired by Malukah’s (malufenix on YouTube) beautiful cover of this song. The arrangement incorporates melodic elements of The Elder Scrolls “Morrowind” theme, and lyrics from the main Skyrim theme “Dragonborn”. I really hope you enjoy my acoustic and vocal interpretation. Don’t forget to leave your song requests in the comment section below, and vote in the next video game song poll for a chance to decide which song I sing next! 😀

Our hero, our hero, claims a warriors heart
I tell you, I tell you, the dragonborn comes.
With a voice wielding power of the ancient Nord art
believe, believe, the dragonborn comes.
It’s an end to the evil of all Skyrim’s foes
beware, beware the dragonborn comes.
For the darkness has passed and the legend yet grows
you’ll know, you’ll know, the dragonborn comes.

Dovahkiin, dovahkiin (Dragonborn, dragonborn)
naal ok zin los vahriin (by his honour is sworn)
wah dein vokul mahfaeraak ahst vaal (to keep evil forever at bay).
