Skyrim Dawnguard DLC Announced

Bethesda Softworks has announced the first The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC will be called “Dawnguard“.

The Skyrim downloadable content will first launch on the Xbox 360 in Summer 2012 as a timed exclusive for 30 days. After that it will be released on PC and PlayStation 3 as well.

Nothing else will be revealed until E3 2012 in the first week of June.

In light of that, let’s jump straight to some rumors… Aside from the obvious crossbow weapon addition (note the quiver on the back of the character in the picture above), rumor has it the DLC will also feature Snow Elf characters and new vampire animations.

Here’s an interesting theory: In Skyrim in-game there’s apparently a “The Great War” book that tells us Dawnguard is in Hammerfell, where the remnants of the redguards? from the great war reside.

While we eagerly wait for more info, here’s a video for you to watch about the Skyrim Update 1.5 on Steam that fixes lots of bugs and adds new Kill Cameras.

Bethesda have said they wanted to make a bigger Skyrim DLC packs, do you think as a result they are releasing Dawnguard too late?
