Wii U Price Reveal After E3 2012

Nintendo previously mentioned they will be fully showing their new Wii U console and tablet touch-controller to the public at E3 2012. Despite what you’d expect, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has said that the Wii U price will not be announced alongside the other info at the show in June.

This was confirmed during a recent investor’s briefing in Japan.

Instead, the final Wii U pricing will be revealed the week after E3 2012 from June 4-8th. Whereas Nintendo’s pre-E3 June 4 keynote will be used to unveil the Wii U system details in full for its launch in late 2012 in Japan, America, Europe, and Australia.

Last year, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said that the Wii U price would likely be around $250 at launch, which would be the same price the Wii launched at back in 2006.

Rumor Update: Walmart is running ads on Google Search selling the Wii U at $350. They may just be guessing the launch price. However, they did list the Wii’s price at $250 before it was officially confirmed too, so they might be right on the money, as the saying goes.
