Legend of Grimrock is a dungeon crawling role playing game with an oldschool heart mated with modern execution. A group of prisoners are sentenced to certain death by exile to the secluded Mount Grimrock for vile crimes they may or may not have committed. Unbeknownst to the captives, the mountain is riddled with ancient tunnels, dungeons and tombs built by crumbled civilizations of days long past. If they ever wish to see daylight again and reclaim their freedom, the ragtag group of prisoners must form a team and descend through the mountain, level by level.

    Legend of Grimrock Walkthrough

The game brings back an oldschool challenge with highly tactical real-time combat and grid-based movement, devious hidden switches and secrets as well as deadly traps and horrible monsters. Legend of Grimrock puts an emphasis on puzzles and exploration, and the wits and perception of the player are more important tools than even the sharpest of swords would be. And if you are a hardened dungeon crawling veteran and you crave an extra challenge, you can arm yourself with a stack of grid paper and turn on the Oldschool Mode, which disables the luxury of the automap! Are you ready to venture forth and unravel the mysteries of Mount Grimrock?

    Key Game Features:

    • Explore a vast network of ancient tunnels, discover secrets, and find a way to survive in the perilous dungeons of Mount Grimrock.
    • Cast spells with runes, craft potions with herbs, and fight murderous monsters with a wide variety of weapons.
    • Create a party of four characters and customize them with different races, classes, skills, and traits.
    • Pure-blooded dungeon crawling game with grid-based movement and thousands of squares, riddled with hidden switches, pressure plates, sliding walls, floating crystals, forgotten altars, trapdoors, and more.

    • That’s fantastic Hawkeye Joe! My dad just sticks to puzzle games, nothing wrong with that, but real-time combat and strategy games can be a lot of fun too! 🙂

    • Hi Derek, this may have to do with the country you are living in. Doug used background music in some of his video guides and that caused a copyright trigger to go off and block videos in certain countries and if it’s unavailable in all, then he has to remove it.

In this case part 7 & 9 still work for me, but I’ll ask about getting part 8 back up. Thanks for letting us know, have a nice day. 🙂

      Hey Derek,
      Here is part 8

I had to edit some parts out in order not to lose my partnership with youtube due to copyright.  Thanks for bringing this up, so we can have the video back up

Absolutely love your walk through. Very spontaneous and entertaining, especially your shrieking laughter and the annotations of times attempted. Makes me feel a wee bit better about my pitifully, embarrassing gaming ability (not much… just a bit.) Thanks so much for your time posting!

Several things… do you recall back on Map 3 where a statue shot down the hall to an open mouth which caused a door to open? (this is actually near the stairs going to map 4 (which now can be accessed back to by trapdoor-bridge) Go DOWN that hallway after opening the gate and hang a right. I believe that’s where the bag is containting the mage’s wand. Also, On 3.. the 2 portals that go counterclockwise and there’s a trapdoor in middle and u throw a torch across room to raise it.. then step to middle? Well.. where that torch lands is a presure plate that lowers another trap door in front of TWO secrets. I can’t solve those two.. I know if u move the torch it raises the platform but how to get inside the case and flip the switch to open the door has been tough!

On Map 5: Hallways the section at the bottom can be accessed via pits from map 4. However, there is one room which appears to be unaccessable. I see platemail armor inside but cannot figure out how to get to it.
Also.. back on Map 4 right after you do the room with the 9 pressure plates (in sequence) and finnaly get thru the door… you are confronted by 3 more presure plates which control 3 trap doors (a 4th presure plate caues 2 to operate at once)
on the wall behind plate 2 (if u count 3 in a line) there is a loose rock which slides open a door back the way you came… 😉
