Alan Wake’s: American Nightmare Preview

This Alan Wake’s: American Nightmare preview will give a quick look at what can be expected from Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming action, thriller title.

Players, once again, take on the role of Alan Wake who is stranded in a small desert town in Arizona. Caught in past episodes he wrote for the TV Show Night Springs, he is thrown into yet another battle between good and evil, light and darkness.

Unlike the first Alan Wake game, which was heavily influenced by Stephen King’s works, “American Nightmare” is based solely on Quentin Tarantino’s films Pulp Fiction and From Dusk Till Dawn (my personal favorites.)

Remedy Entertainment’s “American Nightmare”, is an upcoming story-driven action thriller published by Microsoft Studios. The game will be available for download on Xbox Live Arcade in early 2012!

Creative Director Oskari Häkkinen talks in this exclusive interview about the things that go bump in the night in Alan Wake’s American Nightmare!

And Remedy CEO Matias Myllyrinne talks through Alan Wake’s terrifying new Arcade Mode “Fight ’til Dawn” whilst showing off the new weapons and enemies you’ll face in this demo of the XBLA title.

Key Features of Alan Wake’s: American Nightmare

Here is a list of key features that will be available in Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake’s: American Nightmare based on news and announcements made so far.

Arcade Mode: Titled “Fight Till Dawn”, players are thrown in the middle of an intense battle against continuing waves of enemies! Picking up new weapons and reaching safe havens and attempts aid the player in lasting as long as possible and racking up a higher score. This mode will also feature online leader boards to satisfy your appetite for competition.

Action, Action, Action: Unlike the first game, “American Nightmare” will focus heavily on action as opposed to survival. An increased variety of unique enemies and weapons will also feature in this installment.

Spin-Off Narrative: “American Nightmare” is more than just a DLC! Players can enjoy an entirely new, stand-alone spin-off from the central Alan Wake story and explore the wilder side of Bright Falls.
