Happy Birthday to Angry Birds! The phenomenon turns two years old today, December 11th!
It’s hard to believe that the series is ONLY two years old, seems like it’s been going on forever, doesn’t it? It does to me anyways.
To celebrate Finnish developer Rovio is updating the game to include 15 all-new levels, new menu graphics, and all-new Achievements to earn! This update is dubbed, fittingly, the “Happy Birthday” update and also unlocks all levels!

In addition, Barnes & Noble had a celebration with special events and giveaways today where fans could earn 25% off Angry Birds merch and could earn a special code giveaway that unlocks a special level in Angry Birds Chrome. Other Happy Birthday Angry Birds events also took place in London (at Forbidden Planet) and Japan (at Tokyo’s Harajuku, in the Apple Store at Ginza).
Angry Birds has been downloaded over 500 million times, and turned Rovio into a billion dollar powerhouse comparable to Disney…. Insanity. Now we just gotta wait for the inevitable Angry Birds film and cartoon.
