Street Fighter X Tekken Preview

This Street Fighter X Tekken preview gives a quick look at what can be expected from Capcom’s upcoming fighting game.

Unlike Capcom’s other crossover fighting games, Street Fighter X Tekken will offer an intriguing plot that will explain why these two, otherwise disparate, universes have come together.

This game will introduce a cubical object that has crash landed on Earth. It sits at the center of the conflict between the Street Fighter and Tekken universes and is of a mysterious origin. Nick-named “Pandora”, no one can determine what purpose it serves.

Street Fighter X Tekken is an upcoming crossover fighting game being developed by Capcom and is set to be released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation Vita on March 6, 2012 (NA) and March 9, 2012 (EU)!

Key Features of Street Fighter X Tekken

Here is a list of key elements that will be available in Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken based on news and announcements made so far.

Tag Team
The tag team element of the game will operate at the core of the Street Fighter X Tekken experience, with players being able to switch between the two characters in their team in a variety of manners.

“Switch Cancel” allows players to switch partners in the middle of a combo, whilst “Cross Rush” combos involve launching the opponent into the air before swapping partners and continuing the combo. Also, when a character on a player’s team has less than 25% health remaining, that character can be sacrificed in order to activate Pandora Mode, which gives the remaining fighter increased strength and an infinite Cross Gauge.

Online Play
The game will feature various online options. Two players can battle on the same team and face off in four player matches. Scramble mode allows four players to fight simultaneously in pairs of two. The game will also support online training modes which can be played competitively or cooperatively with two players.
