Hitman 6 In Development At Square Enix

Next-gen project is currently in the works, says trusted source!

No sooner had Hitman: Absolution been announced, a source told Eurogamer that a new Hitman title was in development for the next generation platform.

According to Eurogamer.net, IO Interactive will contribute to the project alongside Square Enix. Work on the game will start as soon as a capable team have been recruited.

“We’ll only turn the production taps on when we’re ready, and we’re clear on exactly what we are building,” explained new studio head Lee Singleton.

“Our process follows best practice, and we will only go into production once we’ve built a robust and fun vertical slice that shows the necessary production metrics we need to plan out the full production.”

In layman’s terms, the team aren’t ready to start production, and won’t be, until they have outlined an overall concept for the project. So it could be a while before we see a Hitman 6 come to light.

In the meantime though we have Hitman: Absolution to look forward to.

The stealth game, developed by IO Interactive and published by Square Enix, is the upcoming fifth entry in the Hitman game series. The release date has not yet been confirmed.
