Chapter 18: The Final Showdown
The final battle takes place inside the Time Gate in the Sealed Temple. Bring all the Fairies and Potions you can. Go outside to the Sealed Grounds of the past to start the fight. First, you will need to head down all the way to the bottom of the area, by many enemies will go after you. Just ignore the Bokoblins and run past them; there is no ppoint in fighting them. Run down the path until a barrier blocks the way. This time you must defeat all the enemies around, including the Bokoblin leader. Defeating them will remove the barrier so you can continue running down until you get to the next barrier. Just do the same thing each time, the only difference being new enemies will add up, like Moblins.
When you finally reach the bottom of the hill, defeat all remaining enemies and approach Ghirahim. The fight with him is a little different this time. All you must do is push him off the platform you are standing on. Attack continously until he is close to the edge and keep attacking to make him fall. You must do this on every platform, but it will get harder each time. Ghirahim will block and attack you back, also changing places with you. When you manage to make him fall, you then need to give him the final blow by thrusting your sword into him. Even when Ghirahim gets harder to hit, keep on unblocking his attacks and hit him until he falls. When you get to the lower ground, Ghirahim will take a sword out to attack you.
What you must do to hit him now is shield bash his sword attack, which will stun him for a few seconds. Then quickly thrust your sword at the diamond into his chest. This is the only way to attack him. You can also shield bash the red energy rays he sends at you. So just block, then thrust. It will take a lot of hits though. Then Ghirahim will enter his last phase, where he will pull out a large blade. Don’t let yourself be impressed though, as this is actually the easiest part of the fight. Just shield bash his sword attack like before, then quickly attack Ghirahim’s sword several times. Repeat the process until his sword breaks, then thrust the diamond inside his chest to finally finish him off.
Demise Boss Fight
After the final fight with Ghirahim, go into the purple hole in the middle of the area to face the actual final boss of the game. This battle has two phases. In the first phase, you must shield bash Demise’s attacks, both the sword and fist attacks. Right after you block him, you need to hit him right away very quickly. That’s really all there is to this fight; block, then attack. It will go on for quite a while though, as you can only hit Demise for a few hits at a time, so be patient. Sometimes he will use more attacks and trick you into thinking he is going to land a hit. Keep this up until he enters his second phase, after many, many hits.
In the second phase, Demise will gather lightning into his sword to attack you, so you can’t shield bash his attacks anymore. The trick to this fight is that you can gather lightning into your sword as well. When thunder strikes, raise your sword to the sky to gather the lightning, then swipe in direction of Demise to send a blow of electricity at him. He will do the same thing to you, so stay at a good distance from him and jump aside to avoid it. Don’t stand too far though, or he will come running at you. After you hit him with a lightning strike, attack him a few times while he is destabilized. Repeat the process two or three times and he will fall on the ground. Quickly run towards him and give him the finishing blow. You need to be extremely quick, or he will get up again and you’ll need to repeat the process once before you can try again. Once you give him the final blow successfully, it’s the end for him. You have done it, you finished the game!
