Super Mario 3D Land Special World Star Coins Locations Guide (3DS)

Special World 7

Special World 7-1

Star Coin #1 – In this Timed Stage you’ll be tasked with taking out the Boomerang Bros. to add more time to your clock. So be sure to get them all. You’ll find the first Star Coin to your left on the backside behind the large tree.

Star Coin #2 – The second Star Coin is easily found. After taking a Teleportation Block, climb three horizontal ropes (actually four) to the top and you’ll see it floating above a tree stump to your right.

Star Coin #3 – The final Star Coin is located in the last area where you’ll see a final Boomerang Brother and a Teleportation Block. Don’t take the Teleport Block yet, instead go down and off the bottom edge towards the screen, you’ll see an orange Bouncy Platform and the final Star Coin.

Special World 7-2

Star Coin #1 – The first Star Coin is easily found floating atop the Tri Coin Block to your right, before you reach the first door.

Star Coin #2 – The second and third Star Coins are just as easy to find, and they come one right after the other. After entering the second door, you’ll find the second Star Coin at the end of the main path here, before you start heading right. You’ll see it float adjacent to a wall, simply Wall Jump at it to grab it.

Star Coin #3 – The third Star Coin is found right after the above. You’ll see it as you are making your way right, it is found above a yellow vanishing platform with a swinging Spike Bar.

Special World 7-3

Star Coin #1 – The first Star Coin is easily found. Keep your eye on the left side as you jump gear to gear, and eventually you’ll make your way over to the left side. You should see the Star Coin floating off in the air. You’ll see some ground that leads to a red Exclamation Block. Hit this to build a bridge to Star Coin #1.

Star Coin #2 – Enter the glass area from the top most green platform using the rotating blue platforms, and it’ll lead you right to Star Coin #2.

Star Coin #3 – The third Star Coin is located where it was in the original version of this level. In the section with the L-shaped platforms that rotate, you’ll find it beyond the Rocky Wrench enemy, floating above the upper right L-platform.

Special World 7-4

Star Coin #1 – I highly suggest you travel back to Level 3-2S to build up some Tanooki power before entering this level, it makes the proceedings much easier! You’ll find the first Star Coin exactly where it was in the original version of the level. You’ll see it along the main path where you find some Switch Platforms and a Spike Bar. You need to switch the platforms to Blue so that the Star Coin pops up. Be careful when grabbing it!

Star Coin #2 – The second Star Coin is easily found in the section with all the breakable bricks and the Para-Coin Block. You may need to use the flying Coin Block to collect the Star Coin. Even more of an obstacle will be Doppelganger Mario who is hot on your tail!

Star Coin #3 – You’ll find the final Star Coin in the area with the two spinning Spike Bars and the long group of red platforms you can run down if the Switch Platforms are Red. You can only find this Star Coin when the platforms are switched to Blue. So you’ll need to make a leap (or much better, a float) over to a blue platform on your right where you’ll find this Star Coin. You’ll be very tempted to keep the platforms mostly red for this section, but doing so can easily have you miss this Star Coin, so keep your eyes peeled!

Special World 7-5 Airship

Star Coin #1 – You’ll find Star Coin #1 easily enough, it will be floating atop a Para Question Mark Block that you will find on a red platform as a Magikoopa floats after you. The platform is found just before a red spinning metallic cylinder, which is the first in a series of red spinning cylinders.

Star Coin #2 – Directly following the above, you’ll easily spot the second Star Coin in the section with all the spinning cylinders, be careful of the Spiked Flophopper enemies, who spell trouble!) and make your way into the background where you’ll find the second StarCoin.

Star Coin #3 – This Star Coin should be a cinch to find, as it is in the same location as it was in the previous version of this Airship during the first quest. Once you reach the final ship, collect the string of Time Coins but don’t take the Teleportation Block. Instead make your way to the back and up to the upper portion, where you’ll find Star Coin #3 easily collectible floating above the cylinder. No boss here! But you can walk the plank to find a Tanooki Toad who’ll reward your bravery with a 1Up Mushroom!

Special World 7 – Bowser’s Castle

Star Coin #1 – Be prepared! This tough Bowser’s Castle stage is both Timed and includes Doppelganger Jumbo Cosmic Mario giving chase! You’ll find the first Star Coin directly beyond the gear-shaped spinning platforms. You’ll see it floating above a group of towers (that Cosmic Mario will bust when he touches them) and a Tri Coin Block.

Star Coin #2 – The second Star Coin is easily found, located in the first wall impression where Thwomps used to be in the previous version of this level from the first quest.

Star Coin #3 – Is found as you are making your way down the final stretch, where you’d normally fight Dry Bowser. You’ll see it as a come to a point that contains two large towers that looks like it cannot be leaped over. Quickly Wall Jump off to collect the Star Coin, as Cosmic Mario will do the same, breaking them in the process.
