Syndicate 2012 Preview

This Syndicate 2012 Preview gives a quick look at what can be expected from Starbreeze Studios’ upcoming Sci-fi themed, FPS reboot.

Set in 2069, players will take on the role of Miles Kilo; a prototype agent, he has the ability to breach anything in the wired dataverse, including enemies, weapons and the environment.

The verse of Syndicate will present us with a world no longer governed by politicians resulting in regional divisions controlled by mega-corporations known as syndicates.

Consumers require a device to access the world’s data via a neural chip. These chips allow users to enjoy all that their selected syndicate has to offer: housing, medical, banking, insurance, education, entertainment and jobs. In return however, the syndicates gain unprecedented insights, and control over individuals and their behavior.

The syndicates have revolutionized how the consumer interacts with the digital world in which they reside and they will stop at nothing for ultimate market dominance.

This upcoming video game by Starbreeze Studios is due to be released in early 2012 for the PC (Microsoft Windows), Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 platforms.

Create your own 4-player co-op team; cooperate, infiltrate and eliminate through nine action-packed missions, inspired by the original Syndicate game.

The origins, evolution and re-imagining of Syndicate are explored in this trailer. In a world where Business is War, you are the weapon.

Key Features of Syndicate 2012

Here is a list of key elements that will be available in Starbreeze Studios’ Syndicate 2012 based on news and announcements made so far.

  • In Syndicate, players will not be limited to the weapons in their hands. Through the ‘DART 6 bio-chip technology’ implants, players will be able to slow down time itself and breach the digital world around them to take down foes.
  • The game so far has been described as a “mix between Crysis-style first-person shooter action and the clean sci-fi world of Mass Effect”.
  • A four-player co-op mode has been confirmed, with a wholly separate campaign based on missions seen in Bullfrog Productions’ original 1993 real-time tactical game.
  • A variety of upgradable hacking mechanics are also said to be available.
