These are the things I have learned while playing so far.
To accepet requests from the bulletin board you have to hit  X on the first page to select it.  It will then show you requests from the people in town.  The first you request you have to fulfill is from Lily, buy a medicinal herb from the her sister the nurse and  bring it back to her.  She will reward you with $500 gold and tell you that she likes fruit.  The second request is from the elf maid Maerwen this is important as she tells you of an island about and hour west of Fennith Island.  This is Spring Island and to raise it you use your Golem.  To raise the Island Smack the water with TRIANGLE the game will walk you through it from this point.  Don’t freak out that it looks dead when you raise it!  (I did a little bit) You use runeys that you find in logs from the first island you raise to bring it back to life.

That is all I have so far for game play I hope it helps someone else to get started.

I’ve been playing Zelda for years with great success. I love role playing games. This game does not make a bit of sense. There’s no walkthrough (that I’ve found) outlining the logical progression of the game. Just 95 pages of character, food, forging and other descriptions. The first island that’s supposed to be found is Spring Island. My game calls it Verde island. I have seen nothing of a Spring Island. The recipes that I have the ingredients for won’t open. I’ve wandered around in the sea for 15 hours and have encountered 2 monsters. Sadly, nothing else but swift currents. I’ve thrown rocks, pounded the sea and talked to 500 or so people on the island, but have uncovered nothing…NADA! I need a progression walkthrough or I’ll have to give it up. Even on Lotto day, it said buy something at a store to get a ticket, which I did. NO LOTTO TICKET was given! This was an expensive game purchase mistake. I have no idea where to go or what to do next to progress any further in this game. The IGN walkthrough is totally useless from the standpoint of how to play the game or accomplish the goals. I understand the concepts, but there’s no information out there on how to do it. Dungeons you say! WHERE?

Good luck! There are no instructions for logical progression in this game that I could find anywhere. The ones I did find (on IGN) were useless for game progression. 95 pages and no graphics or instructions on how, when, or where to do any of the tasks…REALLY.

Aww, hello there! It actually made me really sad to see how frustrated you are about this. I agree with you on the guides, they all are less than what they could be! To find out anything useful about this game I had to rely on randomness from Google, something I really don’t like to do. >_< But my main point is, this game is actually very fun and addicting, once you actually know what you are doing. I think you are just slightly confused on a few things, for instance you don't really need to 'explore' the sea, at all, the game literally puts X's on the map that point the way, and you don't view recipes like that either, although I remember being confused about that too. And the lotto ticket thing is just a subtle clue, if you shop enough you eventually get some.

The biggest tip I can tell you though is this game COMPLETELY revolves around the Bulletin board located at the inn. You do requests for people, and the gold ones in particular progress the story/unlock islands. When you talk to the person who posted the mission you are doing, they will tell you exactly where to go by putting an X on the map, and you can view this when you are on your golem by clicking L2. (You can even tell your golem where to go on that map) Even with the online guides I am STILL learning things I WISH I knew beforehand….. if you have any questions about the game, I would love to help though. ^__^
