iPhone 4S Announced. Release Date & Specs Revealed

The iPhone 4S has been announced by Apple at their big conference. The big surprise was the iPhone 5 NOT being announced, instead giving fans an incremental upgrade. Albeit one that is leagues and away better than the iPhone 4.

Here is how the iPhone 4S breaks down. Use these specs to tell whether you should upgrade or not.

1. The design is exactly the same as the iPhone 4. However inside, things have been beefed up significantly.
2. A5 Chip has been installed into the iPhone 4S, providing dual-core graphics that are 7x faster than the iPhone 4.
3. All-new 8 MegaPixel camera! Resolution is 3264×2448. Includes a backside illuminated sensor allowing for 73$ more light per pixel than the iPhone 4. Five element lens, 30% more sharpness, f/2.4 aperture. Face detection, better white balance, and fast photos with no lag between takes.
4. 1080p HD video recording with video image stabilization and noise reduction.
5. Siri support build-in, use your voice for commands (text, browse, launch Apps, etc.) and have the system talk back to you!
6. Battery life is 8 hours of 3G talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing.
7. Data speed is twice as fast at 14.4 Mbps HSDPA. It’s close to 4G but it is still not TRUE 4G. Disappointing.
8. Supports both CDMA and GSM networks which means you can travel the world and still use your iPhone 4S. Wireless system has been entirely updated and includes a stainless steel band with two antennas.
9. Airplay Mirroring and Gaming on the TV screen supported via wireless or wired!

The iPhone 4S will be released on October 14th, 2011 in the United States, with pre-orders starting on October 7th. The cost will be
$199 for 16 GB, $299 for 32 GB, or $399 for 64 GB with a contract. Comes in Black or White.
