The story of Crysis 1 is set on Earth during the year of 2019. A team of scientists from the United States discovers a frightening revelation on an island off the coast of North Korea in the South China Sea. The North Koreans seal the area off quickly, with which the U.S. responds via an elite Delta Force Operation. Just as the tensions between the bitter nations rise, a massive alien ship reveals itself in the center of the island. The aliens generate an immense force field that drastically freezes the island; effecting the global weather of the planet. With the human race in peril, the bitter rival nations must join together to battle this new menace. Players must fight through epic battles within dense Jungle and barren Tundra and eventually into the Zero-G heart of the alien ship itself.

Immerse yourself in an epic story set within an ever-changing environment. Players are forced to adapt their tactics and approach each battlefield with a renewed perspective if they are to conquer the menacing alien and frozen jungle environments.
Augment your abilities with the high-tech Nano Suit. Change your tactics in real-time to enhance either your physical strength, your armor and resistance to attack, or your speed; or cloak yourself to remain hidden within the land around you. Get creative with new tactics and high-powered weaponry!
Use experimental weaponry to blow the menace to smithereens! Discover alien technology and customize your ammunition. Whether its the TAC Launcher or explosive ammo or bullets that put the enemy to rest; tactical creativity abounds in Crysis 1.
