Bloody Roar 5 Announcement Was Fake

Bloody Roar 5’s announcement was a hoax, sorry Bloody Roar fans!

This fake announcement was originally posted on the official Hudson Twitter with the following:

“New Bloody Roar sequel, is in production! we’ll post more soon! 😉 #BloodyRoarProject2012 #BloodyRoar5 #BloodyRoar Read and Retweet! ;)”

That was followed with a Tweet saying “New Bloody Roar 5 image!” and linking to a meme graphic saying “You all been trolled”. Definitely angrying many fans who originally thought it was a real announcement of their favorite classic PS1/last-generation fighting game series where the characters can morph into deadly animals.

The prankster later apologized, giving a reason for his shenanigans by saying, “Sorry people, just wanted to show Konami that their is [sic] still fans of BloodyRoar”.

So far, Konami, who recently bought out Hudson to acquire both the Bloody Roar and Bomberman franchises, has not commented on the joke.

But let’s hope it spurs Konami into actually making a Bloody Roar 5!

For the most recent entry in the Bloody Roar series, you have to go all the way back to 2003 and the PS2 entry called “Bloody Roar 4”. Before that they released Bloody Roar: Primal Fury for GameCube and Bloody Roar: Extreme for Xbox1.

Here is the opening intro for Bloody Roar 4.

I always loved the Bloody Roar games ever since the PS1 days. Put a lot of gameplay into Bloody Roar: Primal Fury with my brother and friends on the GameCube back in the day.
