Batman: Arkham City Characters List

With the release of Batman: Arkham City on the horizon, here is a list of characters we can expect to see in the highly anticipated sequel!

The story for Arkham City takes place approximately one year after the events of Arkham Asylum. The game is the sequel to action-adventure stealth video game Batman: Arkham Asylum, based on DC Comics’ Batman, for OnLive, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Microsoft Windows. It is being developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game was officially announced during the beginning of the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards and is scheduled to be released worldwide during the week of October 21, 2011.

The Joker is Batman’s archnemesis. First appearing in Batman #1 in 1940, he schemes against the Caped Crusader to this day. He is a cold-blooded murderer, plotting the deaths of his victims with his trademark wicked wit.

The Penguin is a short deformed man who is one of Batman’s greatest foes. He builds high-tech umbrellas and uses them as weapons. He also seems to have an unusual obsession with birds.

Two-Face a.k.a. Harvey Dent

After being horribly disfigured by Gotham’s most notorious criminals, Harvey Dent becomes the ruthless “Two-Face.” Although they had mutual partnership and desire for justice, he blames Batman for not saving him in time. With Joker presumably healing from his overdose of Titan, Two-Face is set to be one of main antagonists in the upcoming sequel to Arkham Asylum.

The Riddler is a super villain in the DC universe and enemy of the Batman. He has an obsession with riddles and enjoys thwarting the police with his clues. He has appeared in several Batman games.
The Riddler is completely obsessed with riddles, puzzles, words games, mind tricks, illusions, ect. He commits crimes but gets an urge to leave clues. Batman and the police are often forced to play his games to find the Riddler.

James Gordon

James Gordon, also known as Commissioner Gordon, is the Police Commissioner of Gotham City. Despite Batman’s dubious methods of law enforcement, Gordon cooperates and assists him, allowing his crusade on crime to proceed unabated.

Killer Croc is a nemesis of Batman. Once a man, he inherited a disease causing him to gradually lose all semblance of humanity, gaining reptilian traits in their stead.

Mr Freeze Promo Image

Mr. Freeze a.k.a. Dr Victor Fries

One of Batman’s enemies. He wears a cryogenic suit to stay alive and uses an array of cryonic weaponry to freeze his opponents solid. Dr. Victor Fries, who was working desperately to find a cure for the normally terminal illness that his beloved wife Nora was infected with, placing her in cryogenic stasis to buy some time. An accident during the experiments exposed him to the chemicals used to keep her alive, and rendered him only able to survive in sub-freezing temperatures.

Mr. Zsasz a.k.a. Victor Zsasz

Mr. Zsasz is a sociopathic serial killer in the DC Universe and is a known enemy of Batman. He is a person with extreme cunning, unpredictability, biological strength and agility. Zsasz also carves a tally mark into his skin for every kill he has taken part in.

Professor Hugo Strange is a fictional character, a comic book supervillain in the DC Comics universe. He is one of Batman’s recurring villains.

Harleen Francis Quinzel is a former doctor at Arkham Asylum, and the Joker’s accomplice and lover. Her personality was modelled after Arleen Sorkin, her voice actress.

Quincy Sharp

The warden of Arkham Asylum. He attempts to cure the psychopaths that inhabit it. Quincy Sharp is the warden of Arkham Asylum. He is captured when the Joker breaks free and turns the asylum into his personal playpen. Through various deciphered messages in the Asylum, you learn that Sharp has a tendency to act violently towards the inmates, and believes they should be killed in order to save their souls and protect innocents.

DC character, daughter of Ra’s al Ghul, and ex-lover of the Batman. As Talia became a full-grown adult, she was made second-in-command of her father’s league of assassins. She is said to be the most dangerous non-meta woman on Earth.
